I know folks who travel overseas for vacation. Going half way across the Soccer Thanksgiving Turkey Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this world for a couple of days doesn’t make much sense. You spend too much time traveling to have the trip cut short. You just get there and have a to come back. I have worked with a LOT of folks from overseas. Each and every one of them would quit a boss who would limit their vacation to one week. You earned the vacation the same way you earned your pay. You should be able to make this trip. It’s worth being careful about telling coworkers where you go for vacation. Some people don’t know how to handle it, even if they could afford to do the same thing. Or they think it’s beyond your pay grade. Some people are petty for sport. I don’t get how people still think they need to request time off and not simply give notice of their planned absence.

Soccer Thanksgiving Turkey Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

I get where you are coming from though but what this ends up being is I’m taking vacation or you fire me your choice. Is to be fair a place that denies PTO or at least doesn’t work with you on when to use extended Leave is a shitty place to work. If you leave on a Saturday and take the Soccer Thanksgiving Turkey Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this 5 business days and come back on the next weeks Sunday thats 9 days right there. Still shitty for them to deny your request. Just go, he’s jealous. It’s not really a asking for time off it’s telling your boss you will not be there, so you better find someone. Do you have ample vacation time to cover this leave? If so, employers cannot penalize you for trying to use your benefits. I’m coming off a 9 day stretch, my bosses made sure it worked out so I took 5 PTO days and gave me my usual 2 days off on either side making it 9 days…you might suggest to your boss that this is essentially what you want to do, making it only 5 business days. I had an employer that tried to deny my vacation request so I quit. They were complaining that they couldn’t cover the days I needed and when I quit they had no choice. I was fortunate enough to be able to make that choice but employers need to stop being assholes about stupid stuff. Take the 5 days and then say your flight was cancelled and you’re stuck until … oh turns out the amount of days you needed. never argue this. just inform them you will not be there those days. it’s not your problem what is fair to other employees. don’t even give them the option to “approve or deny” you are not a child.
