Learn to harden your heart. Most people are barely able to take care of themselves these days, let alone their families, and further you have absolutely no way to know if that person is genuinely in need or if they are there from bad habits or con artistry I’ve been homeless before, and those were the New York Rangers Vintage NHL Shirt Also,I will get this avenues that actually helped get me on my feet. So I contribute to them despite my aversion to religious organizations rather than try to sate a hero complex and put myself and encourage others to put themselves into a bad situation. Just keep this in mind: Outside of mental illness, you almost have to be trying to maintain homelessness long term, there’s exceptions to that, but very very few I will give them money if I can afford to. If I don’t have cash, I often offer a cigarette or ask if they want anything to eat or drink. If I’m low on money myself, I just say, “I’m sorry, I gotta make my bills first.” Usually I at least have a cigarette or a dollar to give though. I don’t care what they spend that money on. If I don’t have cash and they ask me to buy them a beer, I will if I can afford it. I view it as a gift of cash. Not my business how they want to spend that gift.

I just carry singles in various places when I’m in areas with panhandlers. “It’s all I’ve got” and keep walking. Usually keeps them quiet. I used to say, “sorry I don’t have any money” but I’ve been attacked (punched, slapped, spit on, verbally abused) far too many times to give a shit about them. I’m sure there’s people really struggling but it’s usually the New York Rangers Vintage NHL Shirt Also,I will get this drugged up homeless that approach me. If I have my phone on me I offer to get them something to eat or drink or just something they need, if you want to help but is unsure about giving financial support try giving them something they need instead of just giving them money. I usually ask them if they want something to eat but in a non judgemental way, if they are warm in thier response, I’ll have a chat and see what I can learn from a fellow human being.
