I live in an area with a high homeless population. In my experience it’s been best to just ignore them and keep walking. If you do feel the Pastrnak Bruins NHL 50 Goals Season shirt and I love this need to say something, a simple “I don’t carry change” is fine. I usually to offer buy them food or toiletries! Also I donate clothes! I never give money! If I had testing kits for dr*gs I would give them that as harm reduction as well because my bestie worked for shelters and had to administer narcan often and saved many lives. Carry a pack of cigarettes, even if you dont smoke. Say, “Sorry, I dont carry cash, but do you need a smoke?” 99/100 will take it, thank you, and walk away happy. Cheaper than handing out cash, less likely to have further harassment.

I also ask for their name and tell them I’m willing to put a word in for them along with a donation to that so I can assure that my money will be going toward them actually getting care and not drugs or alcohol Those organizations are staffed with well intentioned people who make it their life goal to try to get people out of homelessness, and they’ll do a better job at it than my giving 10-20$ to someone ever will Outside of that, maintain eye contact and keep on your way. Make sure that they know you’re not an easy target and not a source of a handout Now if they ask to use my phone, I let them use a Bluetooth cheap headset I keep in my car and dial the Pastrnak Bruins NHL 50 Goals Season shirt and I love this number for them if I deem it necessary, but other than that I only make donations to local organizations I trust and that I can write off on my taxes
