It’s not the Ausrock Hoodoo Gurus Tee shirt Besides,I will do this norm. It’s just dumb shit that instigators do to rile up the rubes. Which is fine if you are running your own show. The problem is that it filters down to non-thinking fellow travelers that don’t run their own show. And the people they work for ain’t having it. Well “Terry Jones” could be male or female and there is absolutely nothing wrong with what she did (I live in a red state and would not take offense to this). Simple statement of fact. I was deliberately named a gender-neutral name, and my parents sent a gender-neutral birth announcement. “Mom and Baby twinkletoes are healthy” etc etc My whole life, I’ve been misgendered via email and other written contexts, and sometimes even in person as a kid. I absolutely love offering my pronouns when I correspond with someone new, and I do it in workshops when I have a new audience. It’s a simple convenience for me, but if it also helps anyone in my audience feel seen and welcomed, then that’s way more valuable and important. I do enjoy the fact that if anyone gets huffy, I can point to my name and say it causes confusion. It’s a handy get-out-of-douchbaggery-free card. I would ask for my child to be given a different teacher if they sent out a letter with preferred pronouns listed.

Aren’t you liberals always screeching “you may have free speech but you are not free from consequences!”? Well….say hello to consequences. Wtf are people so caught up on pronouns. To me it a desperate cry for attension. Get over yourselves already. No one really cares snowflake. Just being real. You wouldn’t be in this mess if you just left them out completely. Why would she feel the Ausrock Hoodoo Gurus Tee shirt Besides,I will do this need to list her pronouns? If she’s a woman, then it’ll be VERY obvious how she should be addressed. Educators should not be bringing in their political ideologies into a classroom. She can no longer use pronouns? So that means you cannot say “I, you, he, she, we, they, y’all” and all tenses of those pronouns. I hope she’s not an English teacher because the school is basically telling her she can’t use the language
