I am old I am 70 so I need some stuff explained to me. If I don’t know you and you look male to me I am going to address you as sir and if you look female I am going to say mam. Now I have never used pronouns to describe someone while they are standing there listening. If I am talking about you and you are not there then I use pronouns. If I know your name then I will always address you as Mr. or Mrs. – Miss so and so. When are you people going around using all these pronouns in front of the Bali Hai restaurant lounge shirt moreover I will buy this people you are talking about. We are in the year 2023. Introducing yourself with your preferred pronouns is the norm. I’m an educator as well, and I have my pronouns in my email signature, as do most of my colleagues.

Bali Hai restaurant lounge shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

If I were your wife I would absolutely not apologize, because that sends a message that there is something wrong with respecting and using preferred pronouns. As a teacher, that is the Bali Hai restaurant lounge shirt moreover I will buy this exact opposite of what I want to teach my students. It’s not “the norm” any more than Reddit is an accurate representation of the general population. Some of y’all are way too full of yourselves. It’s not the norm everywhere. I live in Alabama. If one of my children’s teachers who is very clearly a woman told me she was she/her, I would think “no shit, thanks for that.” If it was a close call, I might appreciate the heads up. I’ve never heard anyone introduce themselves with their pronouns. I’ve seen it on a scattered few business emails (I deal with literally hundreds of emails from a few dozen companies dailly) but it’s far from “the norm” because MOST people are not trans.
