I have no idea where I read this, but as much as it feels like confirmation bias, I haven’t happened upon anything that’s really proven otherwise. Anecdotal or not, I just believe it at this point. How can this be? This is terrible!! Why is no one believing me, I’m a conservative and I experienced X and guys, it’s nothing like we think!” Then the masses turn on them and excommunicate them. Once the ripples settle, the party continues as before as if nothing happened until someone else does the same thing, rinse and repeat. My favorite version of this is all the middle class Jan 6ers who are experiencing the for profit prison system first hand.
