Signed: someone with a diabetic kid who is also on a two year payment plan to pay off an ER visit, despite being fully insured. Also signed: a mental health care provider who is heartbroken when people can’t access my services because of insurance red tape. No. Our tax system is broken and unfair. Don’t charge me another fucking penny, charge the Wallows Autographed Screenprinted Model Shirt and I love this asswipe billionaires who find ways to get out of paying their share. I mean, what is the diffrence. Not like we have any say in where any of our tax money goes anyways. So no. The gov would just take the money and spend it on other things. Nope, they already take plenty enough money to do it. How about just not giving the Pentagon a literal trillion dollars No. we pay too much in taxes already. Our tax system should be restructured to allocate funds for universal healthcare and Mental health care should be included in that. This should not be a burden to tax payers, we pay ridiculous amounts in taxes as it stands. This is such a dumb fucking question. All questions asking about paying more taxes are dumb. I don’t want to pay MORE taxes. I want my current taxes to go to things I care about and MORE taxes for the obscenely wealthy. This is like recycling. Do I need to pay more attention t my consumption? No, I need the power players to give a shit, which they clearly don’t and make us have to care and argue about. Fuck more taxes. YES more taxes (or a knife fair tax percentage) given to the Uber wealthy. It’s really not that hard.
Wallows Autographed Screenprinted Model Shirt: Get Cozy in this shirt
Yeah. We need something better than private insurance that declines most things. They especially love to decline mental health care. Private Health Insurance needs to end. But voting conservative Americans and those in power hate the Wallows Autographed Screenprinted Model Shirt and I love this idea of someone getting something “Free at the point of use”, even if it’s life saving, life extending treatment. No, I pay enough taxes. Use my tax money I already give. Why would I want to pay more when it seems my taxes are already misappropriated? No, the healthcare system we have now needs to be revamped rather than have citizens pay for free coverage for others! selfishly, I think we should have universal basic healthcare before specialty areas like mental health. would love to have it all, but I think having access to preventative healthcare like mammograms, colonoscopies, annual EKGs, bi-annual full body MRIs, etc. would save so many lives It is amazing how many Americans constantly point to the services in Europe but refuse to understand that nearly EVERYONE pays around 40% income tax. They THEN pay an additional VAT of roughly 19% whenever they buy something. Here nearly half the people pay $0 and they want European services without contributing and just taxing someone else. Kind of. There are a lot of programs I’d want to do away with, and some programs I’d want better funded. I think we can afford mental health insurance if we cut back some of the other government projects. Sometimes I wonder if teachers being better paid (and school in general better funded), and bringing back the fail state in grades, if kids wouldn’t need so much mental health assistance. Bring back love in education and consequences for poor performance at the same time.
I wish all of us got to treat taxes like a buffet. Instead of seeing medication commercials all the Wallows Autographed Screenprinted Model Shirt and I love this time, people should advertise why they deserve our tax money. Every year, we would see the total amount of money taken from our paychecks, and once a year every individual could allocate the money they were taxed anyway they saw fit. Wanna dump it all into fair elections? Go for it! 50% interstate road maintenance and 50% local school music funding? Nobody’s business but your own. 2% to every cause you care about? Done. As certain functions of society tipped in the balance, people would inquire why those services were going by the wayside, and maybe next year, they’ll put more money to those projects instead of the ones they did last year. Every tax-receiving program in the country would have to have total transparency about how they spent their funds, or they would lose eligibility, and the service could be replaced by a private company that wanted to go federal. I’d think that a few years of universal mental health care would pay such dividends to society that it would be a worthy investment for me from a purely selfish pov.

About this Wallows Autographed Screenprinted Model Shirt
We already pay so many damn taxes that a wasted on who knows what. Maybe we could start with some itemization? I wouldn’t trust governments anywhere to properly administrate that. This sounds like a lovely idea, but there is not even 10% of the Wallows Autographed Screenprinted Model Shirt and I love this workforce needed to support something like thus. I absolutely think it’s an admirable goal, but mental health professionals were stretched thin just from the pandemic. It would require a large scale incentivization for people to enter the field. Fortunately, it’s a very popular field to get into aside from the miserably low pay. This is the part nobody tends to think about when the subject of universal MHC comes up. Thanks for raising the issue. People need to understand that a huge part of the mental health crisis in the U.S. is provider scarcity. More people need care than ever, but a ton of providers have been leaving the field in recent years. Finding a local provider to establish care can be very difficult, especially for low-income individuals. Why the fuck should I have to pay for other people’s health care when I take care of myself and am in perfect health. Maybe if they didn’t stuff their faces with donuts and animal protein we wouldn’t have this problem.
Edit: Slipped and fell. Knee surgery is gonna cost $12k. I have therefore changed my position on this issue. Please, if you enjoyed my post so far, consider making a donation to my GoFundMe. The way I see it. I’m already paying for health care. I’d gladly just give that to taxes so everyone can have health care. In a word- no. The US is too big a country for centralized medicine to be effective. Smaller nations with way smaller populations may pull it off, but we simply cannot. That being said, it doesn’t mean that something shouldn’t be done. When our country was first formed, everybody was pretty much on equal footing since herbs and natural medicines were used by everyone- think of George Washington for instance. Except for very rare surgeries, we all used the Wallows Autographed Screenprinted Model Shirt and I love this same procedures. Then in the 1800’s, Assurance companies formed where folks would pool their money each year, so if a medical emergency arose, there would be some funds to help the sick. During WW2, wages were frozen so health insurance and paid vacations were used to attract workers. So it is definitely time to overhaul our system again. I am in favor of people having to own personal HSA accts. They can be started when a child is born, they accrue balances if they aren’t used, they go where’s the worker goes, and becomes a retiremenT IRA upon age 65. These HSA accts are owned by those who have them. The excuse is, “it will cost too much to set that money aside”. Well, what’s the difference between less take home pay because a person was forced to put money into his own acct, and having more taxes taken out to filter through the govt, paying for God knows what, or who. This way every dollar would go to the individual, not passed through all those hands before it reached a sick person. You say, “but it’s not right to force people to do that”. Well, we are all forced to pay FICA for Soc Sec, right? So what’s the difference? At least people would own these accts. Another thing I think we should do is offer state BCBS for independent workers like hairdressers, carpenters, and small business employees. If there was a state wide independent worker policy that shared the financial burden, the premiums would be lower just like insurance at big companies, or even state employees. It could be done, but the entities that are making so much money off the present model don’t want to change anything. But think about it- this way workers for big companies would still have healthcare insurance , independent workers would have their insurance, the poor would still have Medicaid, and the elderly would have Medicare. Everyone would be covered one way or another. And as long as folks have to pay at least something, they have skin in the game, and that would offset the money taxpayers would have to pay for others. But dealing with medicine and health equipment is a subject for another thread. Something like this system would work for us, I think. But except for emergencies, I’m sorry- our medical system should only include citizens, not half the dang world. Because when we are stretched to the breaking point, then none of us have anything. And that’s where we’re heading now. We the People are going to have to force legislatures to do something and now. Because even the pitiful ”Obama” insurance forced as many people out of healthcare as brought in. We can do better than what we’re doing now. But folks have got to stop expecting the government to take care of all this. Because the government is us.
Maybe. But before that, can we get a system of taxes for the Wallows Autographed Screenprinted Model Shirt and I love this wealthy, double for those lobby in Washington, and please, oh please, the fucking churches. All of them. Across the board. I’m from the Netherlands and we already have a pretty good healthcare system, and the taxes that go with it. But I would happily pay more taxes if that meant we would do away with the €385 “own risk” we have here, lowers insurance rates, and (higher) education would be free instead of just “affordable” because affordable doesn’t mean everyone can afford it. Yes, no doubt. It should start as soon as you receive your first W-2. Younger kids pay in starting at their first paycheck, then by the time they’re older and their knees are going out they can have adequate coverage while still sending their kids off to college. No, firstly because we should just implement a universal Healthcare system that include both physical and mental health. Secondly, we should reform and simplify the tax code for both individuals and corporations, including a large increase in top corporate marginal tax rates, before we just start raising taxes. The US tax system costs too much to operate and is inefficient due to the tax code being overly complicated, allowing to many people/companies to get out of paying reasonable tax less.
I just want a public option. Roll Medicare and Medicaid into an option anybody can opt into, pulled directly as a tax from your paycheck if you join (just like private care from employers). Make private healthcare compete with a public option by either driving down price or increasing quality of care. Only rubes who have succumbed to the Wallows Autographed Screenprinted Model Shirt and I love this Murdoch/Putin propaganda are happy paying thousands and thousands more in healthcare costs so long as they don’t pay a bit extra taxes that go to helping someone else. Helping other people or the country at large is absolutely anathema to the MAGA cultists. I am not willing to pay increased taxes for any reason whatsoever. Taxes are too high already. Cut spending and find the money out of the government’s $6 trillion budget. If the federal government were its own country, it would be the 3rd largest economy on earth, after the rest of the US and China, and larger than Japan. If politicians can’t figure out how to pay for that on that kind of budget, they need to go find another job.
Yes, especially because I’ll get all the Wallows Autographed Screenprinted Model Shirt and I love this current costs for insurance back. I imagine it will actually eend up cheaper, without insurance trying to make ginormous profits. I’m more in favor of making the wealthy, and corporations, pay their fair share, and cutting defense spending and farming subsidies to fund healthcare and infrastructure Tons of embedded, useless mental health ‘professionals’ that flood the system and provide no continuity of care? Yeah, no thanks. No, I want the taxes I already pay to go to Healthcare instead of lining the pockets of politicians and government contractors. No. Taxing us more rarely fixes the problem. Look at Baltimore public schools. Perfect example. The government just needs to curb their absurd spending habits and do the right thing the first time instead of creating a problem, and pretending raising taxes will fix it. No. We pay enough taxes as is. We already have the money for it. I’d support it if they can relocate some of our taxes from elsewhere to do it though. No. My employer pays about 12,000 per year for my healthcare. If universal healthcare was implemented, I would be responsible for that tax, and I’m damn sure I wouldn’t receive a 12k a year salary increase to offset the new tax. Secondly, everything the government is in charge of turns to a shit-show. There is not one thing Fed. Govt. does well.
Thirdly, Universal healthcare would give birth to another system of uncaring bureaucrats, which is the Wallows Autographed Screenprinted Model Shirt and I love this very last thing this country needs. There needs to be a better system for uninsured and poor, but forcing everyone into a system that is guaranteed to be less efficient is not the answer. My opinion would be raising the threshold of Medicaid so working poor and uninsured would have access. No. Stop sending the taxes you already take from us to Ukraine and Israel and every other piss poor mf that asks for it and spend it here.. No. I already pay more in taxes than most of the nation makes annually. Put that money toward helping us instead of another bomb. We need less government to support not more, if extra is needed, they need to cut something else I’m afraid, this level of taxation is not sustainable. First of all, psychology today is bunk hogwash there to promote existentialist ideology, so you keep coming back for more. We are in the age of treating symptoms, which just means giving people addictive drugs, so they shut the hell up. I’d support mental health care if they dropped the subjective bull crap and actually treated the causes of mental illness: false ideologies.
Every single developed nation on earth without exception has figured out how to give better healthcare to more people for less money per capita than the Wallows Autographed Screenprinted Model Shirt and I love this United States, the richest empire to ever exist in all of world history. The question is about universal mental healthcare, not about universal healthcare. My country has universal healthcare but if you need therapy you pay for it Shouldn’t it be “Are you willing to pay less in taxes and health insurance to support the implementation of universal health care, including mental health care”? Yes. We already pay a massive PRIVATE TAX to the healthcare companies and still have tons of out of pocket costs. Idk how 100+ dollars a month + co pays, plus costs of the visits before deductible is met and even still more after that is any better. The cost of care overall would probably go down too, part of the reason bills are so expensive are the administrative costs imposed on hospitals and doctors offices caused by the existence of the for profit system we have now. You would pay less in your public tax to the government than you do now in all the fees and what I like to call a “private tax” to the corporation. View more commentsyes but the tax increase should be offset by the elimination of medicare taxes, health insurance contributions and co-pays and the additional health care costs. I also believe dental and basic eye care should be included in any such program.
Yes but honestly the Wallows Autographed Screenprinted Model Shirt and I love this real burden of taxation should be shifted to corporations who are woefully undertaxed. So only if those taxes are raised first. I’m willing to reduce the tax cut billionaires and companies get. Cutting the bail out for their stupid investment failures, etc. Increasing taxes just means bigger tax cuts for the 1% and increased funding for the military industrial complex, especially under Republican administrations. Initially I was going to say no because my taxes are so damn high already, then I learned we have free mental health care here. I can’t bring myself to say I’d be willing to scrap it for cheaper taxes, but if I was asked before it was implemented I would have said no. Yes, but I don’t think we have to considering both how much money is wasted on paying insurance companies and bureaucracy and how much we spend on the private companies that supply our military. Nationalizing both industries would very likely save enough to provide universal healthcare without raising taxes. Eliminate the profit motive and everything becomes much cheaper.
Yup. I find it dumb that if you have a pre-existing condition company practically says eat shit and die. Not that universal healthcare will fix that but it will help millions of people. Duh. Way less than what I’m paying now. How is this even a question at this point? Who likes living in a dystopian hell scape where people are going bankrupt for the Wallows Autographed Screenprinted Model Shirt and I love this sin of getting sick. Fuck evangelicals. Absolutely. Supposedly it would be FAR FAR cheaper on the pay stubs to enact universal health care for all citizens than the private health insurance scam we have to be able to afford. We have that here in Norway. It’s expensive but I think cheaper overall for the general society than if we didn’t have that. We don’t have any mental patients as our homeless for example. As part of my retraining to be a healthcare worker I am now working at a home for people with severe psychological problems and these people are absolutely lovely but they would not be able to survive on their own. They get a pension that covers their expenses and we make sure that they get their meds and such and try to stimulate them for activity and to have as good a life as possible. They are very, very sick and we as a society have an obligation to help them. Just as they would help us if our positions were reversed.
No. I’m in favor of the Wallows Autographed Screenprinted Model Shirt and I love this government going after every wealthy person and company who dodges taxes or underpays and using some of that money to Yes. But we don’t need to. We currently spend more on healthcare than most countries that have universal, free coverage. We just need to take it away from the insurance companies and make healthcare a right (including mental). I look at this question, the answers, and have to ask how many are actually aware of how much of their income is already taken in taxes each and every week, that out of $6 trillion in national spending, and deficits to show that we spend even more than that, that you would be OK with even more taken from you to fund a new bureaucracy with government paid psychologists, therapists, and counselors. yes, because the savings will be enormous, that is, if actually caring for the members of this society isn’t enough of an incentive.
I worked in a level II trauma center for 13yrs and saw people die because they could not afford to see a doctor to have a minor treated only to become life threatening. Yes. I’ve lost one friend to suicide and had two close calls on others. I am perfectly willing to pay to keep people alive. Yes, but the Wallows Autographed Screenprinted Model Shirt and I love this bigger issue is we don’t need to. The money is already in the budget and just needs to be reallocated responsibly. Secondly, the tax hike shouldn’t be felt by the working class when there is a millionaire+ class that gets away with paying less taxes than us on average (percent wise) despite them arguably taking more advantage of social services such as infrastructure than we do. By taking more advantage, I mean a business owner uses highways/roads, traffic lights and all the other transportation infrastructure that taxes pay for via the shipping of goods, the stocking of supplies, etc (multiple trucks and the like using the roads to allow their businesses to exist) whereas your average worker just drives their one car to and from work. That being said, I would much rather existing resources that are a waste of taxpayer money be reallocated for this use. Yes, because my insurance premium at my job should go away. As well as all the medical bills that don’t get covered by my insanely expensive private healthcare. In the US I pay for my family plan $375 every two weeks – about $10K a year – for health insurance. This is expensive AF and I bet if we had a universal systems for mental or physical health that everyone paid into, that the per family cost would go down.
So here’s the Wallows Autographed Screenprinted Model Shirt and I love this the thing. You would be increasing your annual taxes, however you wouldn’t have to pay for insurance/hospital bills. Insurance companies are publicly traded companies. So there main objective is not provide healthcare for customers but to generator dividends for shareholders. Without that 30-40% for profits going to shareholders I don’t think we would end up paying more in taxes. Yes, absolutely. If healthcare settings are going to do things like bill you $200 simply for walking in the door, assistance built by taxpayers should absolutely be redirected towards the people paying those taxes. But we could also do things like stop subsidizing private companies. That might even help the actual citizens. As long as I’m not paying more out of my total income. Meaning I need other costs to be lessened to have the money to pay the increased tax. I don’t have the extra income to pay extra taxes.
Yes because we would actually pay less. Take the Wallows Autographed Screenprinted Model Shirt and I love this middle man out and all of a sudden the cost Comes down significantly Yes. I’ve spent so much on therapy and it’s had a massively positive impact on my life. If I had no therapy I’d honestly probably be that guy at the bar looking for a fight or a tweaker on the streets with no joy in life, or I’d just be dead by my own hand. I believe with my whole being that if mental health was top priority all crime would drop, homelessness would drop, literally everything would get better. School shooter wouldn’t happen as much if therapy wasn’t stigmatized and was free. Already taking too much out of our paychecks plus taxes literally everywhere else. Would rather have our taxes reallocated than increased.
No. The government has taken enough of my money. Why don’t the Wallows Autographed Screenprinted Model Shirt and I love this people who are willing to pay more just do it. The IRS isn’t going to reject their check. No I would not, at least in the method most want it, I do not believe the government would do a good job handling our health care in general. Is our current system good? No! But neither is universal health care. I would be willing to pay more in taxes for more of a voucher system where as many private companies as possible can compete for who can convince you that they deserve your health care voucher for the services you want absolutely! I’d also like to suggest instead of universal mental healcare, just have universal healthcare covering body AND mind. U.S. is always boasted as one of the richest countries yet a citizen can be financially ruined from one medical emergency. yes yes I do thing is I personally spend on less of the items an adult would spend more on. for example, minors still pay taxes on property its just rare for minors to own land.
Yes but I wanna see that increase come from the Wallows Autographed Screenprinted Model Shirt and I love this upper class. They already pay less taxes. I wanna see tax loopholes holes disappear. Too many corporate tax loopholes exist and need to be closed. Yes I rather pay 10% of my income to cover all my issues then constantly be denied because they want me to go to a specific doctor in their network 50 miles away vs the doctor who can do the procure 3 miles down the street from me No. Those of you who think it’s about not helping others are way off base. It’s about a shitty government or relying on a government that can deny anything they want. Or the fact, they are completely inept with tax dollars. I’m willing for a complete audit and overhaul of where our tax money goes to allow to have universal healthcare (mental health included) but I doubt we’ll see this in my lifetime.
