What they should have just came out and said is don’t try to take any free time off because we will deny it for coverage and force you to use your ppto or PTO or take a hit on points LOL They started this The Dadalorian This Is The Way T Shirt moreover I love this at my store a few months ago. Our turnover is huge. Imagine having to work for 3 years before you start to get regular PTO. I’m aware of when pto gets earned. Part time or not, they’re supposed to approve or deny time off requests based on coverage only, regardless of pto being used or not There’s way more than that. There’s also bereavement time, voting time, jury time, and more. The policy about unpaid time I’m referred is where it says to approve time off requests based on coverage only, regardless of pto/ppto before used or not.

The Dadalorian This Is The Way T Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

Sure, reasonable accommodation, but that’s not unpaid time off. Unpaid has nothing to do with pto/ppto coverage. Unless you have an overstaffed store, which I highly doubt unless you are at home office or an academy store, I can say without a doubt your unpaid can and will always be denied due to coverage and there is no policy to back you for this. I’m not saying it’s right or fair, but I didn’t write the The Dadalorian This Is The Way T Shirt moreover I love this non-existant unpaid time off policy. Downvote me all ya want. Just like how pto can be denied due to coverage. But requests are supposed to be approved or denied based on coverage only. See the 4th photo towards the photo, where it talks about requests made in advance they’ll probably still deny it for “no coverage” even though they have the people. Our whole life is supposed to revolve around Walmart remember? Right. My daughter is graduating in June. I requested the day off 5 1/2 months in advance and it was denied. When I talked to a manager about it, he said “oh yeah. I denied that because of no coverage” Really? You can’t find coverage in 5 months? Thankfully, the graduation date was moved, that manager went to a different store, I requested the new grad date off and it was approved Right, because why wouldn’t I want to go to Walmart instead of my aunt’s 60th birthday party or my family memorial day cookout or my family CHRISTMAS don’t give them a choice. state that you are going on vacation and if they fire you over it you get unemployment. if they truly need you they will keep you on the team. better to not have someone for a couple weeks than not having them indefinitely
