People aren’t just going to roll over for them, and now that people who were peaceful will be punished as though they were violent, people will just skip straight to being violent. I’m 100% for unions and striking, but waiting to strike until you have cement in the mixing truck is a little different. Truth is the decision is not a major change in precedent. Unions are not allowed to intentionally monkeywrench or sabotage capital during a strike. In this case the Union intentionally loaded up trucks with wet concrete knowing that they would be on strike before the trucks needed to be unloaded. That created a situation where the concrete inside the trucks could harden, which would be difficult to repair. What I think is interesting about this case is that the Union workers actually stuck around to unload the trucks when they got back, preventing any damage. I don’t know why this case wasn’t considered moot or why the Union didn’t challenge the owners standing to sue. (Maybe they did in the lower courts idk).
