Even cops should be pissed off because now if they get caught for use of excessive force, a union isn’t there to back then up. Striking is not an excuse to damage property, and if property is damaged the owner deserves to gain the credit for that damaged property. Just like if there was a protest outside your home and someone threw a rock through your window. You absolutely should have the right to sue the individual but absolutely not everyone present at the protest. I think many here didn’t read the actual article. This is physical damage caused by the strike. If the striking workers had not already begun the day’s work leaving concrete to potentially dry in the trucks, there would not be a case. What this is really saying is that it is still part of a union’s responsibility to coordinate a strike in a responsible way so that no undue damage is caused. In this case, had the concrete dried, the company would have had to replace the tumblers on their trucks, a cost far outside just some late deliveries.
