You gotta leave to get hired at the Silly Goose On Board Funny Silly Goose Shirt but in fact I love this new higher rate. Nobody is going to give you a huge raise like that unless they are really in a bind. I was a tech at a car dealership back in 1999. I quit to try something else and while I was gone, the dealership business really, really picked up. My old boss literally begged me to come back. I eventually did with a $5/hr raise, 3 weeks vacation and custom tailored uniform shirts. (My arms are extra long and no uniform shirts fit me). Going into the office, groveling over a pay raise is rough and not going to win them over. They won’t respect you. If they really miss you when you’re gone, make them grovel for you. 2012 is a LONG time ago and wages have risen A LOT since then. Rarely is someone at a company for that long paid what they should be.

Raise it with your company that you know their new hires make that much more than you. They’ll likely give you a bump. Then go apply elsewhere see what the Silly Goose On Board Funny Silly Goose Shirt but in fact I love this true market wage is. I mean sorry, but yes that is how modern employment works. Being loyal to a company has little to no benefit for yourself. Start looking for a new job, I had this issue and got no raise. I was latterly told it would be better for me to quit and get rehire then get a raise LEAVE. In my experience, for myself and everyone I know, this is the ONLY way to get paid your worth once a company has gotten away with not valuing you. This is a huge reason why they do not want us discussing our pay. Let me share an example. I had a colleague that collaborated with me occasionally at a prior role. She was much younger did not have the same education or experience- so ok, should be paid less. She was getting paid LESS THAN HALF what I was making. When she asked for a raise? She was told it was not possible. She left. She now makes what she should. I helped her, and then I left too (for multiple reasons- but this was absolutely one of the biggest).
