I have friends like who did something very similar. I think instead of mountain bikes and a ski trip it was a Vegas Vacation. Most of us weren’t dumb enough to donate. Bad optics all around with those two if I’m being honest. They lack self awareness. She couldn’t understand why what she did was so wrong. To her it was “different” money. Meanwhile they weren’t sending their kids to school. Truancy got involved and the sister blamed the neighbor for turning her in. Which is crazy in itself. They didn’t speak for over a year. Now this might sound long winded and irrelevant, but you’re going to let this slide and it will fester inside you. One day you’ll be hanging out with them and it’ll come gushing out in the worst possible way. What if they never get treatments? Do you get your money back?
