In fact Bangalore’s highest temperature dates back to 1931 when it hit 38.9. In February of 2005, the highest temperature was 35.9 which we are yet to see this year.

We have to look at multiple factors when it comes increase in temperature, loss of green cover, amount of construction and vehicle pollution. People only complain, no one ever does anything about it. In the building I stay in, there is an ice-cream parlour on the ground floor. There is a huge tree in the front of the building, and the ground floor is hell bent on having it cut down for “better visibility”. The landlord isn’t allowing for it to be cut down, but the tenant knows people in the forest department and already got permission to cut it down. Since the tree isn’t inside the building, the landlord has no right on it as it technically belongs to BBMP / Govt. They haven’t cut it down because the landlord said No, and if they went ahead with it, it would piss him off.

People donate a ton of food to existing programs and any city in America with a homeless population also has programs that will give them food, all they have to do is come in and get it. The things homeless people need money for are things like warm clothes, gloves, blankets, bags for their possessions, etc. We have programs to raise those things for people in need, but it’s a lot easier to raise food. If you want to give a homeless person something but not cash so they can’t buy drugs with it, a pair of gloves or a hoody or something is way better than food.
