I’m in IT security, I honestly don’t care if I’m watch, I take my dog on a walk, go to get coffee from the Poppie Chef The Man The Legend Retro USA Flag T-Shirt also I will do this kitchen, take a few minutes away to start cooking something etc. My work still gets done in a timely manner and I always respond to DMs and emails quickly. Sometimes when there’s nothing goin on I’ll throw a tv show on, but my work always gets done before the deadline. I will sometimes open an excel sheet and go in to a cell and place a heavy object on spacebar so i dont go idle in Teams. Can this be tracked? Its only for like a half hour here and there “ nobody heard of zoom”. Oh there were definitely companies using zoom long before the pandemic. I’ve been wfh since 2016 and we had at least one daily zoom meeting I oversee multiple software teams. I don’t get any sort of metrics. I think Teams sends the weekly e-mail but I’ve never looked at it and most of my peers aren’t even aware of it. I spend 90% of my day in meetings, while I’m doing BS around the house like cooking or folding laundry. WFH hasn’t made any sort of negative dent in productivity. My only ask is that when I chat you between 9 and 4 you get back to me within minutes unless you’ve let the team know you’ll be afk for a while.

Which employee is happier? The one pretending to work, on Reddit at a desk on their phone, constantly looking over their shoulder? Or the Poppie Chef The Man The Legend Retro USA Flag T-Shirt also I will do this employee who plays an hour of video games mid day or takes a nap at home. Not the amount of time it takes you to do it. If you can complete the job your employer wants you to do in an acceptable manner in 3 hours a day then you should not be punished for it. People at my office would walk to near by stores and business all the time during work hours. Im actually more effective and focused working from home. It’s super convenient not having to sit in traffic for 1.5 hours a day too. Mind if I work for you? 🙂 Not really serious, but I really appreciate that attitude, and I’m one of those people who almost never slacks off at work; I’m a little OCD about it actually. 🙂
