By regularly texting you little things like that and asking you about innocuous topics, he MIGHT BE building a rapport with you in the hope that you might feel obligated/be more likely to be faithful to your friendship with him, not just automatically to his fiance, if ever the need might arise where he feels his fiance might be wronging him. IT COULD VERY WELL BE THAT HE WANTS TO GET TO KNOW HIS FIANCE’S FRIEND WHO IS IMPORTANT TO HER. IF that’s not the case, one alternate possibility is that it’s a subtle, round about ploy for control over his fiance, playing the long game. Just in case, I’d stay a little wary, especially about sharing things about his fiance with him, without express approval/confirmation from your friend first. Just until you know for sure I think that this guy may not have very conventional social skills or boundaries. I suspect that he may fall somewhere on the very high functioning autism scale. I could easily be wrong. But at the same time, I’ve seen people on this spectrum struggle to understand the nature of social relationships and boundaries. Some tend to insinuate themselves deeper into people’s lives than is appropriate. Though it is basically with no ill intent.

Nah it’s weird. Guys never text that much in general let alone a girl they barely know unless he had an agenda. I would feel similarly.
