I really liked this film! I appreciated the Mickey mouse classic pose moon disney mickey and friends shirt moreover I love this fact that they tried to do something different and not just copy the Nolan films. Like the bat mobile isn’t this hulking huge tank of a vehicle. Somehow that became a thing after the Nolan films but I appreciate some change. It’s just this muscle car with a fucking jet engine that’s strapped to the back I loved the fact that they were able to find a middle ground where the film is comic accurate but still feels realistic and grounded at the same time. Like if they mixed the Nolan films and the burton ones together. Gotham looks so grimy and dirty. You don’t know what year it takes place in because it’s somehow stuck in the past but modern at the same time. It looks like the New York from the 70s and 80s but the cars are modern Robert Pattinson is really good at playing Bruce and Batman. You can tell that he’s still learning as the Bat but also still trying to develop what his public persona is. Someone here said it best, he’s basically a emo, moody, edgy kid that wears sunglasses indoors.

The cinematography was fucking great. Batman was actually terrifying here and you actually see him be a detective. The voice over near the Mickey mouse classic pose moon disney mickey and friends shirt moreover I love this end was cheesy as hell Just got out of the theater. A lot to unpack. –I didn’t hate the movie, I didn’t love it, either. It has some strong parts, most notably the pitch-perfect Selina Kyle by Kravitz. She’s a revelation in this, and the best job at capturing the character in any medium other than the comics, ever. And she is soooooooooooooooooooooo unbelievably fetch. Farrell is a show-stealer to the point where I have to wonder why we needed a quasi-origin story for him, at all. Just have him be the boss from the beginning. Dano does a good job as an unhinged Zodiac-style Riddler, though I really question the need to have a classic “go big” grand villain plan at the end. The seawall collapsing and a bunch of armed conspiracy loons doesn’t seem very in tone with the character introduced in the first two and a half hours of the film. Thematically, you can kind of say that the ocean water rushing through Gotham is supposed to “cleanse it,” but that feels really weak and tenuous, plus it felt like something out of the Joker’s playbook, not the Riddler’s. Similarly, the mail bomb was completely out of touch with The Riddler’s M.O. as established earlier in the film.
