When Covid hit nobody wanted to work or be exposed to others. The McDonalds down the MCDONALD’S peace love stitch shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this street from my house combated it with offering people to work starting at $18/hr. Good for the time but it was obvious that they were gonna be let go to rehire someone for less money. I get a mom and pop shop having to decide between keeping the doors open or paying an employee. But these gigantic companies with very very very wealthy owners or groups of owners doing this stuff makes me sick. They are doing it because they know hard times are coming. They will all be fine… But you know who might not be fine? The people they are letting go! McDonalds is so expensive and there’s an In N Out like 0.2 miles from my McDs that it’s just a better burger and the price delta isn’t even that different. My boss fired me 3 weeks before Christmas and a week before my son was born. I made $13 but recently got bumped up to $16.50….they replaced me with a $500k piece of equipment. I was the only person in the company who was excited for this thing and begged to attend the training. They made me work my 11 hour shift and then told me I was fired at the end of the day. I begged for my job and even said I would go back down to $10. Left me jobless at Christmas with a 1 year old and a newborn.

MCDONALD’S peace love stitch shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

Man, I’m sorry. That’s illegal in my country. If your job was replaced by a machine, you would have been paid out redundancy. I got laid off remotely six months ago. We were back in the MCDONALD’S peace love stitch shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this office 1-2 days a week and I found out that I had seen my manager the day the decision was made and he assigned me a new project at that time which I wasn’t able to finish by the time our unexpected “check-in” that involved HR happened. I have no idea whether he knew it was going to happen before or after I saw him but it really bugged me. It also bugged me that it was my 10th year working there and I was due for a $1k bonus during the holidays and I was let go right just before November. Gotta maintain those profits somehow. God forbid a company take the L instead of passing it on to the employees.
