One thing I can’t praise enough: I love the Marvel wandavision retro cartoon TV logo gift shirt but in fact I love this idea of what Batman’s first nickname of sorts was. I know him being called “Bats” or “The Bat” is more classic, but having something like “Vengeance” be the name that more or less everybody from The Penguin to Catwoman to the common street thugs knows him as not only adds that little finishing touch to the Batman/Bruce Wayne that Reeves’ built for this universe, but it also leads to a well-done coming of age story arc for him too. Does anyone have some sort of transcript of Batman’s monologue about how he needs to become a symbol of hope during the ending? obviously loved it. a few bugbears though. Stately Wayne Manor is like one fucking room I think the cinematography was sometimes too focused on looking pretty, compared to being visually coherent Not enough Bruce Wayne. Batman was a little too talkative with people other than Gordon and Selena The Thomas Wayne backstory segment felt detached and expository. A little humourless for my tastes.

I got sick of the Marvel wandavision retro cartoon TV logo gift shirt but in fact I love this Iceberg real quickly. Unclear layout and boring to look at. Réal never finished her talk with Bruce. I half expected some twist with her working alongside Ridder A little too much back and forth between locations. in the space of like 20 minutes we go… … The Iceberg →Selena’s Place → Passport Safe → Selena’s Place (again) →The Iceberg (again) set design, costumes, cinematography and score all beautifully done. Paul Dano will one day get all the flowers for the incredible actor he is, like let’s seriously hope this guy isn’t a method actor because he plays creeps so well. Also, props to Colin Farrell, he smashed his role and Zoe Kravitz was great too. Pattinson was obviously going to be superb. The scenes that were great were really great. The car chase scene, the bit in the police station, the car crash during funeral and bomb scene etc. My only fault is that in the third act, it felt like it sort of fell off a bit after such a strong 2 hours. Also, despite it being so short, the inclusion of the Joker made me sigh instead of smile.
