Right from the Marvel Thor vs lokI comic book gift shirt in contrast I will get this beginning, the music and score helped carry the film to what it was. Maybe I just lucked out and the use of two of my favorite songs (“Ave Maria” and “Something in the Way”) made me feel this way, but despite being quite different stylistically they both legitimately fit the narrative and expression so well to me. I won’t take any slander about the score from Michael Giacchino though. He’s as good as anyone to ever do it for blockbusters and it shows once again here. The Riddler’s game of cat and mouse (or more fittingly bat and rat) along with his trail of breadcrumb clues is captivating from the jump. You aren’t meant to solve the crime. They are. But being a passenger is an enjoyable three hour ride that I look forward to going along again. Another critique from my harder-to-please-than-I brother was that the ending was anticlimactic. I can understand the resolution may not be as final as one might hope for after this kind of a journey. But to me that’s part of the quality of this film. I look for the bigger picture. Bruce’s story. This new universe of Gotham being built and the players in the game. He wonders if he is really helping the city despite its continued streak of crime. He’s still figuring things out about himself, about his family, his city. To me that is more important than putting one psychopath and some followers behind bars. There’s bound to be more darkness or another villain to dive into. I’m excited to watch it all unfold for as long as Reeves and Pattinson want to explore.

This movie was pretty good but it did had some flaws that made it worse than Dark Knight in my opinion. Since everyone is already talking about everything good this movie had to offer, let me talk a little about the Marvel Thor vs lokI comic book gift shirt in contrast I will get this downsides, I think it’s important because it’s things that IMO needs to be fixed in the following movies; – The lack of a origin story. Casual audiences will have to guess what the characters are all about. A lot of us, including me, are comic book nerds so we don’t really need it – but if this movie aims to build it’s own universe and take the MCU public, starting without a origin story is not good. Batman abilities, why he dresses like a bat, his relationship with Gordon, the bat-signal, they are never adressed. Spiderman Homecoming also didn’t had a origin story – but the only thing they didn’t told us was the origin of his powers, everything else is told to us on film, Disney didn’t let so many plot points of the character off-screen like that.
