Do future you a favor and print or forward to your personal email every single email where you remind boss of your planned time off. Look for emails from your boss referencing said vacation or conversations about time off, print/forward those too. Write down dates. Start keeping a list of every time you told your boss. Keep emails showing booking confirmations. It doesn’t matter if you don’t say “I quit.” State agencies usually look at the Lotc land of the creeps dr.shock bill butcher T-Shirt besides I will buy this voluntariness of your separation. No call no show or job abandonment is usually considered a quit (by unemployment agencies). In some states, acting in a way that is inconsistent with remaining employed is considered voluntary (for example, a trucker who gets fired because the state suspends their CD due to an off-duty DUI might be considered to have left voluntarily by choosing to drink and drive). Don’t trust the state to do the right thing. CYA

ETA: even if you don’t have written records of your requests you can start creating them now by referencing past requests in your emails. For example, “as I reminded you on several occasions after you approved my vacation time dating back to september 2022, I will be out of the Lotc land of the creeps dr.shock bill butcher T-Shirt besides I will buy this office from July ##, 2023, returning to work on ……..” If you don’t go on your vacation, you’ll regret it for the rest of your life. You gave them notice, it’s their problem. If they decide to fire you because of it file a claim, you gave your notice and you don’t deserve to be treated like this. We work to live, we don’t live to work. Sounds like you have a lot of value to the company, and you are willing to work with them. I would stand firm on your dates, and in case of push back just explain that you have wokred out your plan as described above. Insist that the dates are non negotiable. Replacing good employees is incredibly expensive, you are not quitting, you have been entirely reasonable and accomodating. They would be absolute fools to lose you over this.
