Fuck me I was cringing so hard in the Legend dancehall studio one bob marley shirt and I will buy this theater during that I felt like I was leaving my body I don’t normally root for Giacchino, but I would give the OST a listen first before you make a judgment. Film composers will write the music to fit the film and this one doesn’t lend itself to many grand musical gestures. I don’t know if Giacchino does it, but he might put some album pieces on the OST that express more of his musical ideas in a vacuum apart from the film, but inspired by it. Or maybe he doesn’t. I’m not going to check. Not enough reason to get into who the characters were. I expected this one would nail Bruce Wayne as being someone we could care for/sympathize with, and see his journey of being a ruthless Batman who engages in shocking behavior at this stage to get vengeance for his parents. Instead, we get too many plotlines that don’t bring us into the heart of the characters in an effective or clear enough way. One scene of Riddler explaining why he feels justified to take revenge on Bruce Wayne does not make the parallel between the characters strong enough, in my opinion. The movie could’ve used work in the script stage to make the whole thing seem more cohesive to give it more momentum and sense of soul. It would have benefited from being more simple and straightforward. The fact that it is supposed to be the first film of this new series means you should establish the characters and trajectory of the Batman/Bruce Wayne character in a much clearer way. Instead, it was more like being thrown into a weekly Batman adventure, and I feel like the character development suffered as a result. Artistically, it was an interesting take. There was an interesting vibe to it, and there were moments of fun. But overall I felt it was more tell than show than it should’ve been, and failed to give the audience a compelling reason to really care about what was going on at too many points for a movie so long.

Loved the Legend dancehall studio one bob marley shirt and I will buy this dna of the movie. the world, score, cinematography, atmosphere and choreography were as good as I could have asked for. The first 30 minutes or so were amazing. With that being said the movie simply dragged on way too long. Sometime around the abandoned asylum scene I thought the movie was about to enter its third act and it went on for another hour and 15 minutes. I would have been fine with the entire flood portion being cut out. I had already seen everything I wanted to see out of a noir detective thriller and then they just went way over the top. Even during that last 10 minutes, there were numerous scenes where you expect the music to swell and the screen to cut to black, and instead another 5 minute scene ensues. Massive blue balls. People were walking out my theater.
