Next time this happens and you’re not life threateningly ill, let the Indica , The glue holding this 2023 shi-tshow together cannabis shirt Additionally,I will love this recruiter know you’ll be in despite being sick. Then audio record yourself throwing up on the desk in the interview and crying saying they threatened to blacklist you if you didn’t go in and you really need this job. No respectable employer or recruiter should fault you for going to the ER and missing an interview due to extreme illness, especially if you gave them as much notice as you reasonably could have. I’ve had this happen the other way around, where the interviewer had to cancel due to an emergency. These things happen, they should be understanding of that. There was no way out of that for you. The interviewer was always going to hold it against you. Maybe a little.. maybe a lot… but it would have been a red flag. The recruiters reaction however… OTT. I would follow his lead. Blacklist him and drag his name through every swamp and back alley you can find on the internet. He deserves no better. We are working with a recruiter who had an interviewee email the morning of her interview and cancel for the same day because she caught a cold. We didn’t mind at all and rescheduled the interview. The candidate wouldn’t be able to put their best foot forward if they are sick and we don’t want sick people coming in anyway. These things are out of anyone’s control. I don’t know why the recruiter would act that way. Maybe contact the company directly. I am sorry for your experience, I hope it works out and I hope you get well soon! I literally missed an interview cuz I got my days mixed up. This was for a controller position (accounting). I told them, they accepted I was a human and rescheduled . I got the job. If they blacklist you over a legit emergency, you don’t need em.

10/10 that recruiter or someone at the Indica , The glue holding this 2023 shi-tshow together cannabis shirt Additionally,I will love this company they recruit for will be in touch within the next few months. They play both sides, and the more candidates they can pull the more it serves them. I canceled a final round interview 4 hours before once—had to go to the ER for what turned out to be kidney stones. Person rescheduled and wished me a speedy recovery. Got offered the job shortly after my rescheduled interview. Sounds like this company you applied for sucks. There are things out of your control, and if a company wants talent and longevity in a role they’ll reschedule. You dodged a bullet. A company that would blacklist you for having a medical emergency isn’t one you’d want to work for! is the recruiter a third party or part of the organization you’re interviewing for? sometimes the 3rd party ones get super annoying about this kind of nonsense my gf got sick a few years ago and couldnt make her interview, so sick in fact i had to call in and reschedule on her behalf. eventually she got the job. Figure out emails for the recruiting company and the hiring company, include the offending emails, email them both in the same message telling them you refuse to work with that recruiter and are obviously appalled with the unprofessional and potentially discriminatory behavior.
