Dude that’s nuts. I don’t have that filter that prevents me from speaking my mind, and I’d probably ask my boss if he just wants to hang out with me all day on the I’m Ready For Kindergarten But Is It Ready For Me First Day Of Kindergarten T-shirt Also,I will get this phone, while I work. While I’m in the bathroom grunting and pooping. Etc. But not having that filter I’d ask that question knowing hopefully he’d pick up that this is fuckin weird. Idk what you do bro but 25 x is hilarious at first. Then it’s insane. Wtf is this business/field? Dude I don’t answer the phone even once a day for my employers. E-mail contact only, it’s not like this job is saving someone’s lives. My first job was at a plant nursery for min wage, my boss wanted me to start taking college classes telling me if I wanted to keep my job I needed to learn more. I told him this is temporary till I can find something better. He was not happy about that. I’m going through a similar situation. I’ve worked for my boss for 5 years, known her for 10 (we worked together at another company previously). I just graduated with my bachelor’s and then decided to get my real estate license. I basically gave her a 2 year notice because my real estate will take a while to build up. She has since stopped calling me throughout the day and doesn’t reply to a majority of my emails that are time sensitive. It’s so weird!!!!

I had a sort of similar situation. When I quit, my boss got absolutely pissed and tried to manipulate me into staying in my minimum wage job. I also told him I was leaving two months before my last day. If someone unironically told me they expect me to work there until the I’m Ready For Kindergarten But Is It Ready For Me First Day Of Kindergarten T-shirt Also,I will get this company goes under, I’d take that as a personal challenge. If you really make a dedicated effort you could probably pull that off in less than 6 months. Okay my colleague did the math once, and made a lot of sense: say worker earns X money/day, company would bill between X+% (insurance coverage) per day per worker. Worker gets sick for 3 days, their shift is not covered, we from the team take in the load and work at low capacity, company earns 3X+%. Two workers get sick: company earns 2(3X+%). Three workers get sick, we from the teams beg for substitutes and they hire one substitute from cheap temp agency. This person doesn’t earn as team and doesn’t have team experience, company may pay a little more for them, but management doesn’t need to take care of the hiring process. We’re still low capacity, 3 people out, one person is in: the company is still gaining. It may or may not have saved time because if they’re lucky that temp is in queue for the next hire without management dedicating time for it, if the other workers think is a good suit the team can push for hiring a specific person (less work for the managers). Same goes for quitting and firing someone: worker retires or otherwise leaves the company, but company doesn’t take in a new worker in training because it would be two salaries for one position. This means we (the team) have to take in the extra load and work at low capacity until the new worker isn’t hired and trained. Management is going to take their sweet time because each day without the worker is less money spent on salaries. Yes management doesn’t act ahead of time (it would be a waste of money) you deliver a sub-par service, but the world spins fast and if company is financed by fees and taxpayers, the chain customer-managers is too far apart, nobody really cares. Company only gains and workers struggle.
