I have never had more fun in a movie theatre! The audience was laughing almost the I’m a grandma and a penguins fan which means I’m pretty much perfect shirt in contrast I will get this entire time and i cant remember the last time i was fully immersed in a movie like this before. Its hard to rewatch it because it really never compares to the first viewing. This movie is easily my favorite of all time and its made me appreciate everyone involved in the making so much more. HAAARK! Hark, Triton! Hark! Bellow! Bid our father, the Sea King, rise from the depths, full-foul in his fury, black waves teeming with salt-foam, to smother this young mouth with pungent slime, to choke ye, engorging your organs ’till ye turn blue and bloated with bilge and brine and can scream no more… only when, he, crowned in cockle shells with slithering tentacled tail and steaming beard, takes up his fell, be-finnèd arm – his coral-tined trident screeches banshee-like in the tempest and plunges right through yer gullet! BURSTING YE, a bulging bladder no more, but a blasted bloody film now – a nothing for the Harpies and the souls of dead sailors to peck and claw and feed upon, only to be lapped up and swallowed by the infinite waters of the Dread Emperor himself, forgotten to any man, to any time, forgotten to any god or devil, forgotten even to the sea… for any stuff or part of Winslow, even any scantling of your soul, is Winslow no more, but is now itself the sea!

Dafoe is the I’m a grandma and a penguins fan which means I’m pretty much perfect shirt in contrast I will get this American version of Gary Oldman. Such an underrated/under appreciated talent. Why he didn’t get any kind of recognition for this role is beyond me. On a side note this film made me realize that Pattinson is a legit actor too. Robert Eggers is a young talent to watch and his films are very engrossing too. This was on my fave film list of 2019 and is in my top 3. This is one of the most amazing sleeper films I’ve ever seen in my life. Cannot recommend it enough for folks who appreciate film as art. He was, by far, the best part of that movie. His “transformation” when Peter realizes something is wrong was amazing. People love his big ham but he was legitimately fantastic in Spider-Man. The mirror scene was absolutely perfect. Movie is so good it makes the audience question reality. I remember the time where DeFoe is chasing Pattinson with an axe after wrecking the boat. They get into the lighthouse. Then DeFoe is like “you were chasing me with an axe! You could have killed me!” and even I was like “wait… Wtf… Wasn’t? Was he? What?” I do believe Dafoe was robbed, and also why does no one talk about the cinematography? I thought it was absolutely brilliant. This movie grows on you, I still think about it all the time and I’ve only seen it once. I guess it’s time to watch it again.
