Corrupt San Antonio Police Story – Why this guy had no other choice and why you should never trust any police in San Antonio I live in Houston. In 2011 my house was robbed and among the stolen items was some professional camera equipment. I set up an rss tracker to search for all posts on various sites looking for posts that described the missing equipment. About 2 weeks later somebody posted my camera on Craigslist in San Antonio. It was clearly my camera because I had a dent on one of the lens that I recognized in the post. I contacted the seller and arranged a meet up at a Starbucks. When I got there a young girl in her early 20s in college was selling it. I verified the serial numbers on the body and lens but said nothing. I asked her a little about the camera curious as to how she got it. She told me she had owned it for years and was just done with it. My friend was also at the Starbucks with me but stayed incognito. When I verified the serial numbers I privately gave him a nod signaling him to call the police. He went outside and called them and then I played the stalling game hoping they’d arrive and arrest her without me having to do anything. After very awkwardly stalling for an hour the manager of the Starbucks came over to let us both know the store was closing because it was 9PM. The police had still not arrived and I had no clue what to do. So I stood up and announced citizens arrest and said very loudly so everybody in the Starbucks could hear “this camera was stolen from my house 2 weeks ago and this lady was selling it on Craigslist”. She immediately ran for the door. I had spoken to a lawyer just prior and he told me under no circumstance could I lay a hand on anybody or I could face criminal charges. Following this advice I ran ahead to the door and held the door shut with my back to her. It was at this point she went over to a very small young man and they huddled together and started whispering. I started shouting for everybody to please call the police so that they would actually come. The male that the lady selling my stolen camera was talking to then walked over to me. He then lowered his shoulder and rammed me trying to push me through the door so they could escape. I’m 6’5 and I’m built like JJ Watt. The guy tried this unsuccessfully a couple of times and gave up. I didn’t even shove him or anything I just stood my ground and kept my hands on the door.
