Also, they do sound like assholes to text you saying you did not accept in time. Majorly unprofessional of them. Is that how you go about your life just doing things at the absolute last second? Why didn’t you follow up and ask for clarification on the conflicting dates? Also if you REALLY wanted and needed the job, didn’t you accept already? This happened to me except it was my ex manager that told me to apply, and he could get me an interview with this great company he works for now. The company then sent me a personalized letter of recommendation from him, and that they were looking forward to interviewing me. So I applied (like I already told him I would be when I got the recommendation email). He checks in with me a day or so after I applied asking if I ACTUALLY applied. Weird but yes.. I say I did. “Okay no problem, just wanted to make sure.” Cool. Then no sooner does he say that, do I check my email seconds later, and I see a very obviously automated rejection email. I am not being considered for the next hiring phase (interview). I tell him. He says he’ll look into it. Nothing. Ghosted by all of them. Pretty awkward too because we were always friendly after our last work experience together. He was always a reference of mine. Someone fucked up at that company and didn’t tell Mr. Resume rejector what my name was or who I was. Sad that it’s truly not what you know, it’s who you know. Guess I didn’t play their game right. Fuck me right?

You might have dodged a bullet here. I’m sorry but you kinda deserve it. You should have accepted the offer the moment the email came in and not wait for days to accept it. I hope this reaches the top of the post to answer some questions, I know I haven’t gotten to alot of people because it been a busy day for me. 1: The reason why I waited so long is because I had much higher paying opportunities I was waiting to hear back from and didn’t want to be black listed from alot of companies that fall under this company’s umbrella by saying yes then quitting before I started. On Monday I texted the same guy that I was still looking over the job offer and he never mentioned it would expire the next day. I also actually opened up the offer day I received it and didn’t see a date of expiration, the only date I saw was my start date.
