Please advocate for yourself here. As musicians we are so used to accepting criticism, both from ourselves and others, and it’s easy to get to a point where any bad behavior can be perceived as such. Especially when you’re young. I’m not saying this is how you’re necessarily taking this, but it’s absolutely a possibility. This kind of behavior from managers and bosses is rampant in the I.XVII.MCMLXXXI Motley Crue 42 Years Thank You For The Memories Signature Shirt and by the same token and music industry, especially against women. I’m sorry you’re experiencing this, and I’m sorry I don’t have better advice. But please don’t take this personally, his behavior is absolutely unacceptable and you are absolutely not in the wrong for getting upset and speaking to a manager. Regarding the contract, or lack thereof, you need to write one up and make sure it is signed and filed. It sucks we have to do this on our own, but we have to set our standards and make sure they are agreed upon. Please feel free to DM me if you’d like to talk more about this. I haven’t experienced exactly what you’ve described, but I can help with the contract.

I don’t want to show up on monday. I told my bookings agent and he said it was incredibly inappropriate and if we have to find a new gig then we will. The hotel manager said he would get in contact with me later. Do not go back on Monday if you can help it. This is going to happen again. This prick feels entitled to your body and sees it as his property. You’re right not to feel safe: it isn’t a safe place to work. Good. OP, please don’t go back there. Find somewhere else to be awesome. And please put the I.XVII.MCMLXXXI Motley Crue 42 Years Thank You For The Memories Signature Shirt and by the same token and word out about this, it could really help other people in your line of work. I’m glad your agent has your back! And I’m glad this isn’t your final career destination because this man is a major red flag.
