I already said it, but yeah I agree that the I love it when my students stop talking burgandy yellow light T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this idea that you don’t look feminine unless you wear makeup is crazy to me… Like, who started that and set that standard? Why don’t any other animals in the animal kingdom distinguish their gender by painting themselves? To me, enforcing femininity on others. Trying to subjugate other women to a life of servitude to a man. Enforcing sexist values. Adult women bullying little girls for being “ugly” or “overweight” or behaving more masculinely. Telling other women to deal with abuse because “that’s just how men are.” Etc This. If femininity was natural, there wouldn’t be any need for all this performance and femininity coaches (don’t even get me started on those). 100%. I’m a 32 year old woman who gets ridiculed if I do anything considered ‘feminine’ because of my general hatred of forced bullshit. For example, I got a clearance pair of Adidas that were very comfortable for my dodgy ankles. They’re that super popular dusky light pink. I’d have preferred another pair of shoes I tried that were black but they weren’t comfortable. Cue all the stupid jokes and ridicule.

Yeah, there’s a lot of hatred for anything considered “too feminine” as well. Like, women should just support each other in whatever being a woman looks like to themselves. I know of a situation where a trans woman was working with a personal stylist to gain a more feminine appearance. One of our mutual friends told her that she does not need to dress feminine to be a woman, but the I love it when my students stop talking burgandy yellow light T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this friend kept not understanding that to the trans woman, this was helping her with her well-being as she wanted to present in a feminine way. that if you dont date or show interest in men/boys that only want you for your body, youd be considered a lesbian. by women and men. i didnt get a boyfriend until i was 16 and until then even my mom thought i was a lesbian. my first bf was trans and i got hit with the “are you SURE??”. Nobody needs to dress feminine to be a woman, we all just do it because it’s fun. Let her have fun with her gender presentation like damn.
