Your not alive to work, you work to live your life. And if your work isn’t aligned with your life, then your option is to find the I Am Kenough Vibes Embracing Your Authenticity T-Shirt but in fact I love this job that is. . Happy for you OP, when you respect and value yourself and your time, it makes it very hard for other people not to. I hope you have fun! Glad he was “able” to accommodate you, though I find it disturbing that he would make such plans knowing damn well that you’ve requested that time off. Bosses are not your friends. Due the dynamics of the employer-employee dichotomy chances are they are simply abusing the concept of being a friend to employees in order to take advantage of them. Do not treat your boss like a friend. Do not treat HR like your friend.

I Am Kenough Vibes Embracing Your Authenticity T-Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

Lol. It was a heads up not a request. Too many businesses forget that and want to try to strong arm you. You work with them, not for them. I worked in a critical position where things happened that cancelled vacations including mine. It was rare, and if it did the I Am Kenough Vibes Embracing Your Authenticity T-Shirt but in fact I love this fist thing the company did was pay for lost deposits, and a handsome bonus etc. I cannot emphasize how rare this was and it was only for events that would matter for decades to come, and after all other alternatives were exhausted. Guard your personal time (and those who report to you) like it’s your life, because it is. As I heard someone else comment here recently when HR attempted to walk back their vacation. He said that he wasn’t asking for PTO. PTO means prepare the others for me not being there. This happened to me once. I told them that it wasn’t my problem, I had given plenty of notice, and I wasn’t coming in that week. I got my week off and I didn’t get fired.
