it doesn’t have anything to do with space for me atleast, for me its my garbage internet that corrupts half of everything that touches my router, and leaves everything else alone at 3mb/s download speeds. not much of a problem after you do download the I am a Grumpy Trucker allergic to stupidity and break sarcasm shirt Furthermore, I will do this game atleast, since stalker is singleplayer. i get why people wish games were smaller but we’re SO long past the days of texture compression since some people absolutely demand their 4k. even sound files aren’t even being compressed anymore, the most recent game i know of that did that was titanfall 2 i believe. all in all a 300gb game is about as big as it gets these days, gamers should be overjoyed that devs don’t cut and compress and spend weeks thinking of ways to uncompress files mid-game, even if the games are getting big. a TB of storage is going to go the way of the GB in the next decade anyway, and internet access is only going to get cheaper. it really comes off like complaining that you need a graphics card to play games whenever somebody says something about filesize and its not a call of duty game or valorant. just buy a new drive or delete something and go make fun of gollum for getting 40 fps on a 4090 instead of digging at an indie dev with a cultic fanbase like GSC.

Yeah, we should be content with oversized games because devs can’t be arsed to compress properly, and make shit like localisation and 4K files optional. Just spend 100 bucks on a new SSD, bro! What, you have capped bandwidth? Go fuck yourself lol, enjoy 100GB day one patch. For me, it’s a download time thing. My internet speed isn’t great. Downloading 150+gbs can take 2-3 hours, maybe more. With that said, it’s only mildly annoying. I just download games overnight or while at work. That ain’t that bad i still have PTSD from when I had 20mbps over air and that would taken 21 hours and that’s what most people still have in my I am a Grumpy Trucker allergic to stupidity and break sarcasm shirt Furthermore, I will do this area. Currently i have 500mbps fibre and and it’s a godsend tho even when I had just a 100mbps i was very thankful Ouch. I’ve been there. On DSL for years waiting for real internet to show up. A few years ago it finally arrived, and I went from 8mb/512K to 100mb/10mb literally overnight.
