Fuck that noise. I don’t get why if he can’t cook, like legit no idea, he would have agreed. He could have ordered you breakfast and tea. Or honestly the best way to learn is to cook with someone. I’m not a great cook and my husband cooks the majority of the time, but I can do the basics. If I felt I couldn’t do it or it wouldn’t have turned out I would have just ordered something instead. It’s one thing to say you’re not very good at something or don’t have much experience, which means you’ll need to ask more questions of your partner, take longer than them to do it, would rather they do it, etc. But if you’re a good partner, you recognize that and find ways to contribute to other tasks that need doing. And, even for the tasks you don’t like, you recognize if there’s an imbalance in how much time you’re each spending on chores and offer to help.

For example, I don’t like doing dishes by hand. I didn’t do them much growing up, I struggle to get things as clean as my wife does and also take longer, and sometimes I have to ask questions about where things go.
