You are not wrong for not wanting to date a child. I hope you best friend could see that as well that having a man child as a bf sounds miserable. And you are for sure in the chet holmgren ch3t Classic T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this right here! Also, you can break up with someone for whatever reason and you’d always be in the right. We don’t owe someone our time and attention of we are no longer interested. It may be harder to accept when there is no concrete reason, but we can’t control that. Your title made it seem like it was just the inability to cook, which I found interesting but upon reading clearly it’s a lot, a lot more than that. It’s not that he can’t cook, it’s that he can’t take care of himself. That’s a WHOLE other thing. Plenty of people suck at cooking, so they order out, or pick up stuff to make a sandwich, etc. Him unable to feed himself if you are not there is not “can’t cook” it is “can’t survive”, or rather, refuses to.

Plus, if one person doesn’t cook, they should then do the chet holmgren ch3t Classic T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this dishes, or the shopping, or whatever. Pick up the slack somewhere else. Finally, he showed you he didn’t care enough to figure it out. Hell, he could have said, “You know my cooking sucks, how about I go pick up something nice from a cafe and bring it to you in bed?” If he’d brought you a tray with your favorite pastries, favorite tea, and some flowers I’m betting you wouldn’t have cared that he didn’t cook it himself. He’s pretending to be helpless so you would take care of him. You were right to kick him out. You’ve got your own kids, you don’t need another. If it was about cooking, he could have another chance and learn how. But it isn’t, it’s about not being a jerk. Can’t learn that from youtube. That level of weaponized incompetence is just not good. A future with him would’ve had just been more of him taking advantage of you. I think you did the right thing.
