I don’t think it makes people dumb. More like. Specialized. Most things that are viewed as disadvantageous are in reality evolutionary specializations a population can profit from (although sometimes at the Hello my name is Pipkin Ppippa I am 3333 years old and I love to bring peace is Walmart shirt and by the same token and loss of individuals). Even extreme stuff like depression, ADHD, sociopathy, etc. all serve evolutionary purposes. But I am curious, since it is so foreign to me: How does thinking work for you? How dow you come to decisions? How dow you plan? How do you conceptualize ideas? I don’t have one either. I think about stuff obviously, but they’re mostly like flashbacks, feelings, or scenarios without words involved at all. I feel like most the time I’m thinking about literal nothing. I’m definitely glad I don’t have an internal dialogue though, after readying these comments. When I’m working (glazier) if I’m not signing to myself then I’m talking to myself about the job. I’ll be saying stupid stuff like. “Don’t know who done this before but they bodged it up” Or I’m cursing because the job is difficult “Bloody f….n putty, why won’t it come off” Or Just talking to myself in general. Keeps me company I think

Hello my name is Pipkin Ppippa I am 3333 years old and I love to bring peace is Walmart shirt, hoodie, long sleeve, v-neck tee

Never had a dialogue unless I’m reading something or needing to specifically word something. Thoughts are just… Thoughts. No words. When I discovered people literally think in words it blew my mind. How? Isn’t that just… Very slow? I’d hate to hear my voice all day. Even when I’m talking with someone I kinda talk with myself inside my head as a side conversation usually about what I just heard. When you read in your head do you hear the Hello my name is Pipkin Ppippa I am 3333 years old and I love to bring peace is Walmart shirt and by the same token and words your reading? If not, what goes on in your head when your reading Also, apparently it’s weird if you can change the inner monologue voice to someone else’s. Guess I’m an odd one. I do,used it when reading your post(technically, I use it for any for of information gathering or to converse without being audible,so it’s basically my split personality). Now I can be sitting at the bus stop and have an entire conversation in my head between 2 of my characters, just to “Feel it out” before writing it down later. always. especially when I am in a mentally distraught condition. I go through episodes of monologues where there is a full-on debate between my own thoughts, and it ends with a well-formed conclusion. It’s mostly just fairly repetitive swearing in a vaguely British accent, interspersed with long periods of BLANK where I stare at the wall and mentally recalibrate.
How do you think about stuff then? How did you construct this Hello my name is Pipkin Ppippa I am 3333 years old and I love to bring peace is Walmart shirt and by the same token and very topic without discussing it with yourself? How do you imagine weird stories for fun or to write about? How do you remember certain situations? How do you reflect on past events and on own emotions and such? I mean, if i think about it, it may be that when i ask with wonder how is it possible that some people can’t see they are manipulated or how is it possible to be so stupid to fall in certain traps. It’s probable that they don’t really do any type of introspection or whatever self assessment because they simply are not able to, they can’t see a different point of view and are awareness impaired and only see what just under their nose or only where their horse goggles point at, because they don’t see a broader picture, can’t talk with themselves to get a different handle on things.

Some information about Hello my name is Pipkin Ppippa I am 3333 years old and I love to bring peace is Walmart shirt

My internal monologue mostly comes in the Hello my name is Pipkin Ppippa I am 3333 years old and I love to bring peace is Walmart shirt and by the same token and form of a little voice in my head making what-ifs that I try to ignore My internal voice is a military one, often telling me to shut the duck up and do stuff! One of my goals of this year is to be kind to myself 🥲 Oooh man mine won’t stop yapping, sometimes during the night i wake up and it starts speaking and won’t let me sleep again, i also can’t keep focus in my classes and when teachers ask me what they were talking about just now i cant even remember wich class im in But it also gives me the most brilliant ideas ever tho its mostly nonsense like 99% is. Chronic depressive since childhood here. I used to think people were complete psychos who had this until I went to my first month long clinic stay and learned it’s not as rare as you think just most people don’t seek help. I’ve had a separate voice/personality in my head for as long as I can remember (37m). I can fortunately say I’m lucky it’s a case where I can let it not let it make my decisions, with ongoing therapy of course, you wouldnt be able to tell it in any way. I relate, pity and support those who caarent able to let it interfere with their lives though. It’s due to a separate identity wanting me on a daily basis to physically harm those that caused me my trauma, at least trauma that my brain allows me to remember. It’s a completely different person which I named Eric before ny therapist originally told me it’s not good to name it. Happy to answer any questions if need be.
Some like you have not much most of the Hello my name is Pipkin Ppippa I am 3333 years old and I love to bring peace is Walmart shirt and by the same token and time, others have a constant string of words but not really sound, others still can almost hear the words and those words can be said in other peoples voices. That theme continues into more sensory imagination and recall. On recall some people can basically play back video of their memories, others can’t even bring up a mental image of their nearest and dearest. Likewise for smells, tastes and sounds. On imagination some people can have a novel idea for say a house and imagine that internally and see it, others may be able to do video memory recall but not new content. I have almost constant music in my head though. Ready to come out and play. So I started making music and letting it out to play.
I do! Thank God cause I’m completely mind blind, I can’t picture anything when I think of things, or only hear my inner monolog describing it Sometimes, mind is either blank, remembering something for better or worse, or blabbing on about random stuff. Sometimes if I’m alone I’ll make the Hello my name is Pipkin Ppippa I am 3333 years old and I love to bring peace is Walmart shirt and by the same token and monologue external lol, mostly in the car. Yes, constantly, unless I’m asleep. I can quiet it a bit if I try to meditate but it’s a bit difficult. I can vividly imagine anything too. Downside is that sometimes I think of scary images for no reason and spook myself lol. A cool thing is that I can change my inner voice too hehe. I can choose to make Daniel Radcliffe narrate my inner thoughts for the day if I want lolll. Edit: I wanted to add that I can also hear entire songs inside my head too. I used to memorize a lot of movies as a child and would watch them inside my head.
I can talk, feel, hear, in my head but I can’t see pictures. My head is 90% internal monologue, 10% incredibly weird feelings, and 10% music playing over and over. Which is like the Hello my name is Pipkin Ppippa I am 3333 years old and I love to bring peace is Walmart shirt and by the same token and only plus because if I know the song well enough, I can listen to it in my head. I do, like constantly, and my hubs never does, which I found very odd. I joked to him that he does not have internal dialog due to mental and verbal ineptness. He told me to F—- off. I talk in my head all the time and daydream. I don’t find this annoying or anything though. I am a very whimsical person and live being in my head, narrating a story as I go about my day. Shuts up my anxious mind and makes me happy. 988 more repliesYep. Sometimes wish I didn’t. It’s REALLY hard to change it from beating me up over every little mistake to actually being helpful.
Only a fraction of humanity has an internal monologs. Alongside a fraction of humanity can process 3d object in their head I am often bewildered by this type of question. Part of me wonders whether this is an issue with the Hello my name is Pipkin Ppippa I am 3333 years old and I love to bring peace is Walmart shirt and by the same token and definition of what an internal monologue is. Perhaps you have one, but think that what you have isn’t what others do? I don’t go around “talking” to myself in my brain, but my thoughts are often on what I’m doing, going to do next, planning, worrying about family members, the like. At times I do semi-converse internally… but it isn’t the dominant stream of my consciousness. Wow I thought everyone was like me. Always having thoughts in my head, conversing with myself. I guess some people don’t.
It’s not dumb I’m on a whole other level my imagination is insane. I have multiple dialogues at the Hello my name is Pipkin Ppippa I am 3333 years old and I love to bring peace is Walmart shirt and by the same token and same time, I can place myself in a different plane in my brain. I can picture things vividly, I also dream vividly. If you say “1” I physically picture a white black outlined one. And 4 (being my favourite number) is usually green and bubbly. Green being one of my favourite colours too. It’s really useful especially because I’m dyslexic, If I need to spell something I can picture the word and take it straight from my brain. Sometimes I joke saying I’ve got to go through the files to find the right thing. But when I saw that I imgine opening a file cabinet and quickly flicking through. It can get distracting. I also deal with derealisation and dissociation so that sucks.
However I have a friend who can’t picture anything. They explained it like if I say “picture” it they just don’t see anything. There’s nothing. Kind of like asking a blind person what they see it’s just nothing. They know what something looks like because they can describe it but they don’t see it. I was in disbelief. However they do have an internal monologue. No you’re fine. I only have internal monologue if i’m actively thinking through a problem that deals with conversational ability, or trying to pre-emptively have a conversation where you’re trying to get a point across. Any other thoughts are just feels, and since they’re my Hello my name is Pipkin Ppippa I am 3333 years old and I love to bring peace is Walmart shirt and by the same token and feels it’s much more efficient and speedy than having to articulate things to myself. I pretty much have a monolog and movie going in my head at all times. Can I pause it? My brain is too loud sometimes
Constantly. I write letters in bed. when I was teaching, I went over lectures while driving. I rehearse what I’m going to tell the Hello my name is Pipkin Ppippa I am 3333 years old and I love to bring peace is Walmart shirt and by the same token and Doctor. I’m speaking out loud as I’m writing this. If I’m learning something, I try teaching it out loud. When the “lecture” comes to a grinding halt, I know exactly where the problem is. I do. I also read everything out loud in my head. Even writing this I’m spelling it out loud in my head, which is funny cause I’m writing with one hand so it’s a really slowly spelling out. I can’t conceive of not having one. How do you form thoughts before speaking or writing? When you read is it just silence inside? I feel like we need a better depiction of what not having an inner monologue is likez
If by internal monologues you mean having conversations with multiple parts of my psyche like freaking Sanders Sides, then yes, I do indeed Yes, but I read somewhere that not everyone does, or at least to varying degrees. I don’t think we’ll be able to exactly translate what an inner monologue means to each of us. For instance, I have OCD, so I have an inner monologue 24/7 trying to calm my intrusive thoughts. I had a job by myself working 11-7 am the Hello my name is Pipkin Ppippa I am 3333 years old and I love to bring peace is Walmart shirt and by the same token and day shift started at 8 and second shift went home at 10. Long story short I went about 2 months without seeing anyone or talking. One night another crew showed up to do something on another floor and I found out my voice had like seized up from not talking so I basically croaked at them and scared the hell out of them. To prevent that I started saying my inner monologue out loud, and somewhere along the line started referring to myself as “we”. So after 3-4 months of talking to myself it became a habit, then they put another guy in my shift with me. That lasted a week. Apparently me wandering around muttering to myself like Gollum and talking about him “Oh look, Ray is here. We wonder what Ray wants. We should ask him! Hey Ray! What’s up? Why is Ray running from us?” Freaked him out. Got a new partner and told not to be so fucking creepy so I broke the outer monologue habit.
Like some folk go for a walk to the Hello my name is Pipkin Ppippa I am 3333 years old and I love to bring peace is Walmart shirt and by the same token and shop and just, walk. I can’t do that without thinking internally about everything I see and explaining things to myself. I have a quite specific case (at least I think so). Like a lot of kids growing up, I wanted to be a YouTuber. This lead to me constantly thinking like a YouTuber would talk in a video, like addressing the audience for example. Sometimes I have to almost do retakes because I can’t think “correctly” (like can’t remember a specific words). I hate it. It’s annoying as fuck No afaik it’s just a different way of experiencing thoughts. I’ve only felt myself have no internal monologue once and it was super peaceful lol I almost never have them, either. Worse, I have aphantasia and cannot “see” images in my head. I am still accounted to be fairly intelligent. I’ve always felt like I have a considerable amount of processing going on in the background, though; I just don’t access it with my conscious brain…and then I get nice solutions to things that just come out of nowhere.
I have a super vivid imagination and live inside my head ALL the Hello my name is Pipkin Ppippa I am 3333 years old and I love to bring peace is Walmart shirt and by the same token and time. I talk to myself out loud (whispering or just subtly mouthing if I’m in a public space) and then respond in my head whenever I’m pondering something, or sometimes I will go on a rant in my head whenever I’m just chillin. Sometimes I’ll accidentally write a whole movie script I prefer verbally saying my inner thoughts than having an inner monologue. I find the narrator in my head really unreliable at times. I have an inner monologue. I talk to myself inside my head all the time. I’m doing it now as I type this out. I am literally saying each word in my head as I type. I have ADHD. I have an internal monologue, but there’s also a lot of random voices and loud noises all at the same time
Brain also enjoys mixing every language I know in the Hello my name is Pipkin Ppippa I am 3333 years old and I love to bring peace is Walmart shirt and by the same token and talking part, and the rest isn’t in a language because it’s visual Not only do I have an internal monologue. I run through crazy scenarios as well. I frequently get stuck whistling the same toon in my head, weeks on end. Maybe if I’m rehearsing something I will say or trying to figure out a complicated idea that would be hard to understand without putting it into words. Otherwise like 80% of the time I don’t have a monologue I have an ongoing inner conversation, sometimes with myself and other times with other people (real and made up). During the day the dialogue could turn into a narration of day to day tasks, and when an idea or memory pop up it’s like a sticky note set aside which will eventually disappear when I forget it.
Why does everyone have an inner monologue here?? I don’t. I just have words and actions that pop into my head but they aren’t complete sentences. Is that normal? I have a friend who told me he doesn’t go over anything in his head before he does things. which is terrifying. I do but some people think in words and some people think in concepts like shapes or pictures or emotions about something 🙂 I only think in words when I start thinking about thinking in words, if that makes sense. Or, if I’m thinking about a conversation specifically and creating that in my head. Otherwise, words/sentences are not involved in my thinking process. No, your lack of internal monologue does not make you dumb. Everybody’s different! I have an internal monologue, and sometimes, it’s so annoying that I wish I didn’t have one! lol I have the Hello my name is Pipkin Ppippa I am 3333 years old and I love to bring peace is Walmart shirt and by the same token and whole spectrum. I can remember things from the past like movies, playing before my eyes. I can see text from books that I’ve read, I can also no think about anything, just stare at a wall. It’s great cause whatever the situation, I’ve got the conversation. I have 3 different distinguishable voices yelling for the position of power. . . . .only one of them is me! Or what I would consider the closest to my voice out of the bunch!! Haha, oh God. . . . .reading that with them waiting for the next debate or piece of information to tug in 3 different directions. . .it hit kinda different than, when I think of them and the fact that, well there’s simply too many. . . Ill let them try to figure it out, but they are still hidden in my head, kept safely away from you fine folks. I guess I’ve never read it before, is all! My internal monologue is swamped by all the voices and noises I hear, and actually having to think and work stuff out can be very difficult. I can get very over stimulated sat in a quiet room
Unfortunately I have audhd so i have at least 4 conversations, a song, random sounds playing in my head at all times and the Hello my name is Pipkin Ppippa I am 3333 years old and I love to bring peace is Walmart shirt and by the same token and little voice that reads with me haha. I hear certain meditations have actually made it so there’s no internal monologue and just quiet for people like me haha. No. In my brain there are no fulI conversations going on. I don’t form sentences in my head, unless I consciously ‘make’ myself form a sentence in my head. I do this mostly before I have to write things down. The rest is more of a stream of feelings and constant associations that flock together into concepts. I don’t literally say to myself in my head ‘I have to buy groceries’, I have flashes of images of the supermarket, cheese, the refrigerator etc et, things I associate with groceries, I have a feeling of ‘urgency’, I do hear the word ‘groceries’ internally. Thinking about this… I was a journalist for 15 years, in my current job my specialty still is ‘translating’ complex information into understandable and relatable content. I always begin my proces by putting my Internal constant stream of associations and concepts into writing. Whilst writing the stream gets organized. So maybe I use this while others have words in their head for this?
Any time I’m not doing something physically engaging or trying to sleep my brain pretty much does whatever and I mean any time and the Hello my name is Pipkin Ppippa I am 3333 years old and I love to bring peace is Walmart shirt and by the same token and part about trying to sleep can be taken very literally as well. The brain just won’t shut up sometime I think everyone has some kind of narrative but the type of narrative you have probably corresponds to that visual/aural/kinesthetic thing. Some people have a monologue. Some think in pictures. Some literally can’t mentally visualise stuff at all. I know when my brother draws something he’s seeing the thing before he draws it. I can’t do that. My brain has a constant monologue though, music too. Nope- it’s hard to describe what I have but I definitely don’t think in words or hear a voice in my head unless I make a conscious effort to imagine someone saying something. No internal narration- It’s more like abstract concepts? The way I think of it feels like how they show neuron mapping. Lots of threads and ideas that tie to other things but just sort of pop up and down very quickly. Seemingly random but all existing at once… I also can’t really imagine visuals in my head. I speak to myself in my head as if I were in a YouTube vlog channel, but it’s been almost a decade since my golden years and now I’m trying to appease the new generation while not understanding anything, as the algorithm has me by the knees
