The thing I care about most is helping people, mainly by teaching them meditation, which is what I know best. I think that should be the Hellfire Club Shirt so you should to go to store and get this priority–as opposed to making a bunch of money. Of course I have to charge money for the services that I offer because I have my own living expenses. While teaching for donation works well in Asia, it doesn’t work well in modern America. I think this is because Asian culture recognizes the importance of donating to people who teach meditation, and most monasteries are very financially secure because of that. However, in modern America, most people don’t recognize the need to donate to people who teach meditation. Because of that, every meditation teacher friend that I have that tries teaching by donation simply can’t make it work and they have to get another job. So I think if you’re trying to teach meditation in the modern west, it makes more sense to simply charge a fee, as opposed to accept donations.

Hellfire Club Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

Perhaps most importantly, I’ve spent two decades doing intensive training. I’ve put in at least as much time practicing and teaching meditation as a medical doctor has spent practicing and teaching medicine. My skills and expertise are well developed and my time is therefore extremely valuable. I’m considering to make a podcast about contemplative spirituality, hoping to open the Hellfire Club Shirt so you should to go to store and get this perspective for rational critical thinkers like me who are allergic to everything that even remotely resembles woo. I’m hoping to fill a gap on the market for the German language, as I see that most contents are only available for those proficient at English. My current idea is to offer the content for free, and add an option for people to contribute donations. I’m not intending to pay my rent from this; my current main job will remain my primary income. Whatever people decide to donate will be welcome but not required. If nothing comes around, that’s fine as well. But I can’t shake off the notion that there is a relationship between people’s contributions and my willingness to grow the project beyond “just another podcast”. I don’t want to waste people’s time; I don’t want this to be just another feel-good self-help podcast. I want every seeker who listens to this to come out of the experience with an opinion of: “Wow, that’s exactly what I needed. It opened up my eyes.”
