I know a builder who has an apprentice whose job it is to dart around West London on a scooter and do video call quotes with the Funny hotels Californias Band Music Legend Classic T-Shirt moreover I will buy this boss while he’s on a different site. Not very professional towards clients but saves him time and money I guess. This pisses me off no end though. That’s absolutely not what being an apprentice is. And apprentice is there to learn a trade, not be a lacky. My job now is apprenticeships, it’s my main thing, and the amount of bs some of them put with is maddening. And the amount of time and effort they expect me to put in to “get em a pass” beggars belief… I tried one of those “quote for my job” sites, did my best to explain what needed doing, provided photos, stated I had all required materials etc.

First got told my estimate was too low – and that’s why I wasn’t getting quotes. I then upped it, and got told it was now too high…(seemingly trade pay for the Funny hotels Californias Band Music Legend Classic T-Shirt moreover I will buy this lead off the estimate, not the actual price). I gave up in the end. I dunno, it’s a very 21st century solution. I wouldn’t mind it given tradespeople are like hens teeth around here. Oh no, believe me, they do this to catch out the vulnerable, particularly the elderly. An elderly colleague of mine was recently quoted by this chipper tradie who’s known her for decades £10K to install a new drop kerb outside her drive. She obviously couldn’t pay but was too nice to say no so she said she’d think about it. Next day he comes back and says he’s pulled some strings and can do her a ‘big favour’ since she knows her that he can do it for a mere £8K. I wouldn’t accused them all of being cooked myself, there are honest and crooked people in all professions but I can say as a younger disabled woman there’s people do try and take advantage so I never meet with anyone by myself. It’s shocking the difference having my stepdad there makes to how people treat me and the quality of work I get. It’s not so bad with my mum but my stepdad definitely gets treated the best in these situations.
