Japan. All the Dmitry Bivol Boxing 22 wins 11 Ko retro shirt in addition I really love this rubbernecking made me so uncomfortable. What should have been a trip of a lifetime was cut down to less than one week. Yea, a lot of times employees didn’t want to help me at all when I was shopping in malls. They would make eye contact then go away. I would have to ask for help face to face then they would put a fake smile on and help. Japan is amazing but damn did it feel like I was in Fakefornia. I know how you feel. I ended up going to Malaysia to spend the rest of my vacation time. It was so chill and amazing. London UK. Spent a month in Paris before and planned to spend another month in London. I finished sightseeing in two days and wasn’t impressed with food. Locals were lovely but everything seemed subpar in comparison to Paris. Cut my month long stay to three days

We were traveling across Canada from west to east, we booked a hotel in Toronto but when we got to the Dmitry Bivol Boxing 22 wins 11 Ko retro shirt in addition I really love this hotel it looked so sketchy we moved on. So you didn’t care to read online reviews. In decades of travel, never saw a sketchy hotel in Canada after spending a little time online researching. KP was way too hilly and remote, I didn’t find it suitable to work when everything was so difficult to get to. I under estimated how hard it would be to get about without a scooter. Abruzzo was again way too remote. But literally people only spoke Italian and to do anything in Italy always requires you to speak to someone. So even ordering basic food was frustrating. And you was made to feel like an alien. Getting a taxi was impossible. So I was super isolated. It was really miserable. Then the Internet wasn’t good enough at the Airbnb. Had to go.
Wow, it’s incredibly shocking in to hear that you had to speak ITALIAN in rural ITALY. I would have never guessed. When you’re new to nomading at the Dmitry Bivol Boxing 22 wins 11 Ko retro shirt in addition I really love this time and KP comes up in the top places to nomad in on blogs etc, you’d assume it wasn’t completely isolated. The hills were some of the biggest hills I’ve ever seen. Some bikes genuinely weren’t powerful enough to make it up the hills. Speaking from experience. I obviously knew that. What I didn’t anticipate was how face to face people based Italy was. So ordering food required communication, getting a taxi required phoning and speaking only Italian. The transport links were extremely poor. The Airbnb was cut off from everywhere. The main issue I had in Italy though was how hostile people were for not speaking Italian. Rookie error though and I learnt from it. As Italian, this seems to me very very strange. If you try to speak only a bit of Italian (like “ciao”, “grazie” and very basic stuff) everybody would be very gentle with you and try to help you.

My experience in Italy wasn’t like that. I used basic Italian like those phrases. But I was clearly a foreigner. I’m half Japanese so maybe that played a role idk. But I went on to go to Anzio as a beach town near Rome was appealing and it was so hostile at times it felt dangerous. I got abused by an entire restaurant for asking for a English menu. Then, someone in the Dmitry Bivol Boxing 22 wins 11 Ko retro shirt in addition I really love this restaurant said invasion stop the invasion and laughing at me. Which was context to their recent political campaign i believe. I had constant aggressive stares in streets when I was talking in English with my girlfriend. I saw grafiti that said “locals only” “no foreigners” in English. I then witnessed fascist rallies in Rome with soviet Union flags. You surely were unlucky for finding and focusing on the bad sides, but I won’t say that it’s out of the ordinary.
When I visited Rome and asked a “tabacchino” about how to use the Dmitry Bivol Boxing 22 wins 11 Ko retro shirt in addition I really love this metro ticket (or something like that). I was surprised at how polite he was while explaining it. That should tell you about my expectations of Italian people, as an Italian. I’m brown skin, though not dark, and do not look like a typical Italian; and stayed away from tourist zones. Never had any problem like described and never felt unwelcome. I made a big effort to speak in Italian only, and even with my limited grasp at the time, was able to get around mostly fine. Duolingo lessons in the morning and practicing what I wanted to say on Google Translate before entering any store helped me get familiar quickly, and was certainly appreciated by the locals.
Agreed on transportation in Koh Phangan. Not willing to surrender my passport for a scooter. The dirty beaches / water there also surprised me. 10 years ago though, so maybe things have improved since. I didn’t feel comfortable driving a scooter on those crazy hills especially in wet conditions. Yeah agreed the Dmitry Bivol Boxing 22 wins 11 Ko retro shirt in addition I really love this beaches weren’t that great. I actually found most of the beaches to be over rated in Thailand. I much preferred the jungly cities like Chiang Mai. Cruising around Siem Reap on my scooter and checking out the temples near Angkor Watt is one of the highlights of my life though. Not a DN but when we went to Iquitos during an Amazon trip we had intended to stay quite a bit longer. We were so tired of Iquitos within like a day and left quickly. Hot, dusty, sketchy. This was also on Christmas so maybe not the best timing.
Yes. Hamburg. Too industrialized. The only place in Europe where I could look out and see literal fields of homeless people. Their downtown and cultural areas paled in comparison to nearly every other city I had been to by a factor of 10. Portland, Oregon. Openly hostile to visitors who were worried I might decide to move there and jack up their rents. No worries dudes, no chance of that. Also generally overrated. Not the Dmitry Bivol Boxing 22 wins 11 Ko retro shirt in addition I really love this friendliest people, but the city and surrounding nature spots are drop dead gorgeous. Great food and music scene as well When I arrived to the bus station, that I felt that heavy sun in my face, that I saw that long stupid tree-less highway with no obvious way to reach the city center, I thought “what I’m doing here anyway” and took the next bus.
Stupid part is having your bus terminal in the Dmitry Bivol Boxing 22 wins 11 Ko retro shirt in addition I really love this middle of nowhere 10km away from the city center and no proper public transportation to connect the two. How are you even supposed to get there. With your car?? It was 14 years ago, I had no phone, my english was so so, I was too poor for taxi, I had no idea how I would manage to find back the bus terminal. That’s the story of the place I instantly noped. Sevilla. Not sure why, but instintly didn’t feel good there. Maybe it’s only linked to the fact it was 45 degrees during my stay there lol (I’m quite used to warm weather and I love travelling to Spain tho). I’m currently stuck in Las Palmas, GC and locked myself up at home due to insane air pollution. The current AQI is 134 and it can get even worse here. Trade winds blow Sahara dust, mixed with toxic industrial fallout from Morocco through the canaries for days. Once I get away here I’ll never go back!
I left Medellin despite being shacked up with a 10/10 because I couldn’t find one place that served quality premium mocha java. I need premium coffee or I can’t function. And they can’t make it apparently, they don’t have the Dmitry Bivol Boxing 22 wins 11 Ko retro shirt in addition I really love this technology. So I left. Morocco. Too much air pollution and eating 2 tajines a day gets old really fast. Worst cuisine of any country I’ve visited. Police corruption towards foreigners. I was stopped in my rental car at every police station and detained until I paid a bribe. Not all stations, but many. Varied between $5 to $20. If they say you are speeding (even if you weren’t) you can’t prove it like in first world countries. If this happens they threaten you with taking you through a lengthy legal process and large fines in the 100s of dollars. Can even detain you until the court hearing. Or at least threaten it. So I personally ended up negotiating and paying 50% of the $160 fine the police said I would have to pay to let me go. That’s my experience It’s a beautiful place for the beaches, but I got bored after a while. Majority of the people live in very poor conditions unfortunately. Wish it were different for them, but that’s what I saw. Only the resorts have modern accommodations and once you leave the resort it’s like you went back significantly in time. Unless you go stay in Stone Town. Even there I got constantly haggled by street vendors and the parking attendant attempted to hold my vehicle hostage by parking other vehicles around it so I couldn’t leave asking for 10x the price of parking normal fees.
I’ve been to Johannesburg, CDMX, a bunch of “sketchy” places in Eastern Europe and Detroit and have felt perfectly comfortable and relatively safe. New Orleans made me very uncomfortable for some reason I can’t explain. Was warned off going but decided I might as well go see it myself. Imagine someone who understood relatively well what you need in a city, but didn’t understand the Dmitry Bivol Boxing 22 wins 11 Ko retro shirt in addition I really love this concept of living in it. They then designed said city using the original Sim City game. Polluted, poverty everywhere, kids pissing in the street, garbage everywhere, can’t really walk due to bad sidewalks. I was in the nicest parts and it still was a shithole Polluted, poverty everywhere, kids pissing in the street, garbage everywhere, can’t really walk due to bad sidewalks.
Lol that’s funny bc I actually liked Cebu but I think it’s because I went to Davao and it’s simply relatively worse with all the Dmitry Bivol Boxing 22 wins 11 Ko retro shirt in addition I really love this same things so Cebu seemed like a slight upgrade Key Largo. There are lots of remote workers who must be located in the lower 48 who love to scuba who move to Key Largo. When they get there they realize that its a really small town, with all the expense of a big city and scuba diving there is like four time more expensive than in 3rd world countries since you have to take a boat. Most of them end up moving to palm beach county for the cheaper shore diving where we welcome them with open arms. Cairo – see the pyramids and get out quick – just continously pestering and hustle. Even saw kids being taught how to pester tourists. Also spat on by complete stranger ! Kind of fun to do this thread in reverse: I’m surprised no hits for “New York” “Moscow” “Budapest” “Vienna” “Kyiv”
Armenia. I think the Dmitry Bivol Boxing 22 wins 11 Ko retro shirt in addition I really love this biggest issue was I had expectations going in and I usually try not to do that. I heard they were so friendly but I definitely didn’t feel they were that welcoming to me. That plus a bad landlord situation and it being super hot was just a bad combo. I ate the loss of rent money etc and just left. My mental and physical health (it was a bad apartment) just wasn’t worth it. I spend 6-7 months abroad every year for several years now, this was my worst experience. It doesn’t mean I couldn’t have a good experience if I went back again. But this particular trip was just bad. Like a few times, I thought there was gonna be a confrontation in broad daylight with no alcohol involved.
Since there’s already a top comment on Montevideo, I’ll say Tbilisi. I booked a month, considering a year, and found it very boring as a city. The wine bar scene was great, and the Dmitry Bivol Boxing 22 wins 11 Ko retro shirt in addition I really love this long-stay DNs at the wine bars were cool (my first time hanging out with DNs after being one for 15 yrs). But I don’t think I could ever live there. If possible, I would’ve cut my visit short by 3 weeks and just stayed one week. Hanoi after spending almost 2 years in SE Asia backpacking, this was my last stop. After doing the 4 day HA Giang loop I went back to Thailand. Most locals are nice/ friendly tho but hospitality probably was the worst. multiple times either the grab/taxi driver would drop us at the wrong location not to deal with the traffic, see people getting hit by cars and motorbikes walking down the street and the driver just kept going
My only real connection was with an asylum seeker from Russia, nothing with the Dmitry Bivol Boxing 22 wins 11 Ko retro shirt in addition I really love this locals, only country I’ve been to that I did not leave with lifelong friends from the country. Monaco/Monte Carlo. Planned on just spending the day there but even then I left after a few hours. Just a lot of flash & such but I didn’t see a lot there I wanted to explore. The locals hate westerners, the corruption is rife, its full of ex-pats who think their Thai bride actually loves them when in reality they only see the westerners as a cash cow, the ex-pats egos are through the roof. It’s far from the land of smiles. Awful place, didn’t meet a single honest or sincere person while I was out there. Bratislava: Planned to be there for 6 hours, cut it down to about 3 and even that felt too long lol absolutely nothing to do with Kuala Lumpur: other than batu caves, the “historic” part feels more like buildings you’d see on cheap theme parks of the interstate, and the food is such a major downgrade after being in Penang, JB or Singapore. Even in “highly-rated” places the foods are meh, and the foods are inedible in normal places you’d find malls or train stations. We’ve been there many times because they have the cheapest flights around most of Asia and some part of Europe so it’s a great transit points, and each time has been nothing but disappointment i ended up just stay at the airport even for a long day layover and reserve my energy.
14 more repliesMorocco because the Dmitry Bivol Boxing 22 wins 11 Ko retro shirt in addition I really love this internet just suck there so much. There are always scam out in the street on a daily basi Bali, Dirty, relatively expensive and everyone seems to get sick, I don`t get it, SE Asia a million times better, Sorry Bali fans, I`m sure its beautiful once you finally get to your destination after 5 hours in the car. This question made me realize that while I rarely leave a city early, I’ve often left an accomodation/airbnb early. Having good accomodations is sooo critical. I wish Airbnb didn’t become so bad lately. I LOVED Montevideo! It’s more expensive than Argentina but still reasonable. Go to Cafe Veronica/Verona in the big downtown market and search for day tours given by Mariana. She speaks perfect English and is so knowledgeable!
No hate to any students or alumni but I left the Dmitry Bivol Boxing 22 wins 11 Ko retro shirt in addition I really love this tour at Fordham’s Lincoln Center campus early. On paper it was the perfect school for me but I felt on edge and had a splitting headache the whole time. My dad said he felt the same and as soon as we walked outside my headache immediately went away. Zion National Park. I had visited the other 4 Utah NP’s first, and Zion was last. It was just so ridiculously crowded that I immediately missed Bryce. Don’t get me wrong, Zion is extremely beautiful and popular for a reason. But the other parks were just as pretty and more calm. Plus, the gift shop at Zion was the most unorganized and underwhelming of them all. Bruce’s gift shop kicked ass. Tunis/Tunisia. It wasn’t so much dislike as a series of terrible experiences within a very short span of time. It just wore me down. Plus wrong headspace due to personal issues. Was supposed to say in the country for two weeks but left after three days.
Which is likely to be, but hopefully not, what the Dmitry Bivol Boxing 22 wins 11 Ko retro shirt in addition I really love this ravenous C-Suite tells the thousands of people they now see as “redundant” Almost certainly for at least a year even if your role is a “synergy” and eliminated. It takes a long time for these deals to close. Really, 18 months minimum is a pretty safe bet because a deal this big almost always involves a post close integration period. I work in an adjacent industry and our large corp got bought out by a giant corp and it still took them 18 months to do all the analysis they needed to determine how to integrate internal systems and which departments were redundant vs which to keep. There will be a lot of rumors that turn out to be horseshit in the meantime, but you should be fine for at least the near future. Besides, something with the name recognition of Discover has a good chance of continuing to exist as kind of a parallel structure within capital one, whereas my (former) company was gobbled up whole. Even despite that, they really did find jobs for a lot of us in the new company and overall I have a lot better work-life balance in the new giant company than I ever did in my former one. It’s not all doom and gloom, wish you well.
I work in the Dmitry Bivol Boxing 22 wins 11 Ko retro shirt in addition I really love this industry that often does this work following large corporate acquisitions and mergers, and this alone will take an eternity with 2 entities of this size. So much so that it often plays a role in the attractiveness of the acquisition itself. They go SO much smoother and faster when the company being acquired uses the same systems as the new parent company. Yeah I was surprised. Even though the company buying us is a similar size to Capital One and my former company was only a little over a 10th the size, there were still some things the new company eventually said “fuck it” on and decided to keep as-is despite the constant rhetoric for the first year being about transitioning everything over entirely. It just eventually turned out to be too hard.
