Swede here, I’m not surprised TBH. Swedes are more used to such cold temperatures and know the Dead Meat Business shirt so you should to go to store and get this importance of proper clothing. I think people from constantly warm climates are more oblivious to how dangerous cold weather can be. I also highly suspect that Aussies are way better dealing with high temperatures than swedes are. If it gets 35C they go “aaw yea m8 bit chilly t’day innit” while swedes won’t stfu about what torment it is to literally live on surface of the sun. On the other side of that coin (and to your point). We have seen a rise in heat related deaths last decade here in Sweden. Because we aren’t knowledgeable enough on how to how to deal with the rising temperatures ( ex: most homes in Sweden don’t have ac, very few people recognize the signs of a heat stroke, and so on. ) Within 2000km of me, there is one place which snows. You need to climb a giant hill one day out of three years to see it. Otherwise, we need to go so far.

I have touched snow in switzerland when I was 8 and then when I was in my mid 30s and went to Queenstown in New zealand.
