December is tight (and honestly this money is already spoken for by Dwarf Fortress), but you’re on my wishlist and I will definitely pick this up in January – looks like EXACTLY my kind of jam. Definitely added to my wishlist for now. On steam I saw it had a demo option, but when I clicked on it it just sent me to the Creedence clearwater revival 55th anniversary thank you for the memories signature shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this stores page. Is the demo no longer available? Since I own this on steam, can 10/10 recommend. It’s a fun city builder.The sample is prominently featured. I mean, she’s basically just rapping over the original beat without much variation from the original. Not having this cleared before posting and filming visuals….a choice. Ya but rappers do this on their free mixtapes all the time. Theyre fun lil remixes to build hype not profit. Putting it on streaming would obviously call for some sample clearance but a youtube video is essentially releasing the track for free. No shade but she probably got like less than $20 off youtube clicks for it. Why should any publisher care about that?

The drum break lasts about seven seconds and was performed by Gregory Coleman. With the rise of hip hop in the 1980s, the break was used in hits including “Straight Outta Compton” by N.W.A and “Keep It Going Now” by Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock. Honestly true-it is on her at the end of the day. My guess is that she feels shit on because maybe she attempted to reach out, didn’t hear anything back and was on a time crunch but thought the last bit of the song was enough of a clear homage for it to be cool. But that’s more speculation. She also may be being used to make an example, which feels shitty regardless of whether ur in the wrong or not. I do feel bad for her because bigger artists have gotten away with much worse with their music still left up. She’s also 22 without a label, so there’s not the same level of protection & decent advice there even with some of her connections to other artists. It is also a lot of money & time to film & promote it in the way that she did. but hopefully it serves as a teachable moment. It was a good use of the sample, and I’m biased as a fan as I want to believe the best of her and all. check out her other stuff, it’s quite good & no drama afaik
