Hope you have proof. At least wait until his family has his funeral. Then ask and show them so they don’t think you are scamming. If they balk you may have to sue his estate. All you do is make a claim he owes you the Camp Survivor v.2 Shirt moreover I love this money. Keep all proof and correspondence There are so many ways this could go and you have no way of knowing how simple or complicated it could be. All you can do is keep that receipt safe and ask the spouse/family. You might be lucky….I inherited everything from my spouse, there was a Will, no probate was needed, and four days after he died I had the death certificate. A half hour trip to the insurance broker and the car would have been yours. I also would have bought back your receipt and kept the car if that’s what you preferred.

He’s going to have an estate managed by someone. I think you can complete the Camp Survivor v.2 Shirt moreover I love this sale of the car if you have proof of the agreement. Well the family can decide to go ahead with the sale of the vehicle to you, odds are they have a person I charge of the estate and will need to sell many things How did you find him? Kijiji or Facebook posting? If still there screenshot it and any and all texts emails or messages. Don’t lose them. I recently closed an estate and a written note for one of the cars would have been accepted happily, much easier than the paperwork of making sure no one wanted one. 3 generations of drivers to check with… What kind of signed agreement do you have? Nothing is good if it’s not on paper, signed by all parties involved. 39 more repliesI believe I shouldn’t post because most people have similar advice. When did you pay and Did you pay by check? Bank receipts are great. If you paid cash, hope to god you got a receipt or something. Now here’s the hard part. Reaching out to the family at the proper time. You don’t want a relative seizing the car that you just bought and showing some empathy. The goal is to get the car or your money back. You may need that physical evidence and a witness. I recommend seeking council for legal advice in this situation. Good LUCK One thing I haven’t seen mentioned (so sorry if this is a repeat) is that there’s a solid chance his heirs already have cars and don’t need the one you were looking to purchase. You could likely continue with the purchase and possibly even get it for a better price
