They are going to delay that pay raise until our sun turns red and engulfs us. More work and more responsibility means more pay, full stop. It’s possible this could work out well for you, but like others said… try to get the Boards of Canada in a beautiful place out in the country shirt in other words I will buy this plan in writing. Get dates when the evaluation period will be complete so it doesn’t end up open-ended, and don’t be shy about talking about it! Being direct is a good thing in business, particularly in management. My brother went through this… started as a machine shop operator and got asked to step into a computer admin role on a trial basis. Now he is the director of Computer Operations for the same international company. It can work out. More responsibility and no more money is a recipe for failure. If they want you to step up, they need to step up too. It’s almost guaranteed that you will be putting in more work and more time to learn quickly. You’ll resent them if you’re not getting something for that effort. This would be an easy yes if they believe in you. Disappointing that this wasn’t the first step. You owe it to yourself to ask/demand this in exchange for the new responsibilities. 20% minimum bump. Your boss was making 50% to 100% more than you were.

Boards of Canada in a beautiful place out in the country shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

AKA we’re comfortable enough to have you take over duties but not comfortable enough to pay you for it. K sure. Stop thinking that you don’t deserve the Boards of Canada in a beautiful place out in the country shirt in other words I will buy this same as everyone else, and don’t let them gaslight in to thinking you aren’t capable… If they didn’t think you could do the job then they wouldn’t let you do it. Your bosses think that you’re a pushover and that they can cheat you with lies and false promises. If you want to be a valued and respected person.. stand up for yourself, and demand the money that the work deserves. Put your foot down, set boundaries, don’t do the job if you are not being paid for it. If you don’t stick up for yourself, then why the fuck are you here? Why ask for advice if you’re just going to roll over and take it anyways? As is they are asking you to step up to help them through an leadership shortage. If they won’t commit to new compensation the way to protect yourself is an appointment letter to acting director with a begin and hard end date and commitment from the company that your old position will be available to you if you are not given the official promotion with compensation.
