I agree with this. People shouldn’t be tagging her or DMing her or coming onto her social media pages and giving their unsolicited opinion. It’s rude and it’s unneeded. But discussing contestants on a reality TV show in a fan space, even if the Aventura Cerrando Ciclos Tour 2024 Thank You For The Memories Shirt but in fact I love this discussion is as shallow as “her makeup looks terrible” should not be a controversial topic. I feel like Reddit and other fan spaces get very wrapped into the overall hate the queens get, and inevitably we see threads popping up patronizing the subreddit for being so mean. We should be allowed to be catty and silly and speak our minds (within reason, of course) in our own spaces. Amanda is growing as were a lot of queens when they got on the show. I think the fact that it was pointed out so frequently has led to greater criticism. She is doing amazing as a performer, and I personally want to see her either live or on the runway again.

I saw her in Heaven in London and not the Aventura Cerrando Ciclos Tour 2024 Thank You For The Memories Shirt but in fact I love this was she a mesmerising lip syncer and dancer, she looked beautiful. She’s worked on it! Her clapping back is all a part of the experience. I’d rather she do this than suffer in silence People should know the consequences of DM’ing a queen with negativity! I think it’s awful how we treat each other on social media (and it mostly is social media tbh. People aren’t throwing tomatoes at queens performing in the clubs…for the most part). Like, say what you will but is it absolutely necessary to tag people when you’re calling their drag shit? I’ve never understood that. It’s just so nasty. But one thing I’m really interested in is the divide between queens for whom drag is a thing they take on and off–it’s their job, or their hobby that they’re trying to turn into a job–versus the queens for whom drag is their identity. I think the latter group is more susceptible to getting their feelings hurts, like Amanda clearly is. I’m not really sure what the solution for folks like that is but it does feel like the Drag Race social media community isn’t the best place for queens like her to be. I couldn’t handle non-stop attacks on something I see as my personal identity either!
