We need more money going into police training and more money going into community relations with police, ie making sure there’s local police stations again, with local forces who come from and know a community. Also let’s make drugs a thing for the taxman and regulators to worry about not the police. Make treatment centres available for anyone at anytime for any drug they deem they want help with so they can a safe and reliable rehab experience with after support including government housing in smaller purpose built apartments to help the hardest hit get back on their feet. I guarantee these solutions would fix so many problems, crime would go down at least a fraction and the impact on people’s lives from all walks would be impacted for the better. Maybe we tax the billions in profits the energy sector makes each year to fund this, not much to them but massive to us.
