That is why, don’t be excited when your country/ culture is represented in one of theirs new movies. You don’t need some foreign corporation to tell you that your culture is cool, it’s always is. More likely they will fail at addressing the AFL This is christmas Pajamas sweater St Kilda Saints shirt it is in the first place but complexities of that culture and you will come away unsatisfied. This is as bad as the NFL trying to trademark the fleur de lis because of the Saints. It doesn’t belong to the Saints, anyway. It’s a symbol of French Royalty. After all, these are the same trash scum, who told a dying four year old spiderman fan, that he cannot use his favorite hero in his tombstone, all because it would affect their merchandising. That’s like trying to trademark “Christmas”, or “Thanksgiving”, or “Halloween”. Even the AFL This is christmas Pajamas sweater St Kilda Saints shirt it is in the first place but movie “Halloween” didn’t attempt to trademark itself. And knowing how music corporations or the movie industry love to nail every little things down as theirs, Disney would probably do something ridiculous. Two teenagers in Mexico trying to make a “Dia de los Muertos” short film? Some old Mexican grandma names her candles as such? You know what fuck them, let’s sue. It would be so funny if Disney send a cease and desist letter to the Mexican government for opening a “Dia de los Muertos” theme park or festival. That’s like trying to trademark “Christmas”, or “Thanksgiving”, or “Halloween”. Even the movie “Halloween” didn’t attempt to trademark itself And what’s really funny is your example of some teens in Mexico making it? Yeah, they would call it the name of the holiday, Dia de Muertos.
