I had moved into my house and had only been there a season when in the Zoot the electric mayhem blue-haired saxophone T-Shirt but in fact I love this spring an apple tree upended right outside my home office window. I had gotten my morning coffee and was sipping it and right then and there, I was facing upended roots. After my shock I went outside to look at it and found myself bursting into tears. In fact, I cannot even recount this experience now without crying. I was surprised at the emotional impact, but since I think I have an “other life” history with this house, it occurred to me that I may have planted that tree in another lifetime. The feelings would not go away, so I called my dad and he listened to me cry for about a half an hour. My dad is a landlord who always made sure to take good care of all the trees on his properties. He made sure every residence was surrounded by trees.

Still the Zoot the electric mayhem blue-haired saxophone T-Shirt but in fact I love this feelings would not go away so I just went outside and lay down on the tree for about 15″ and said goodbye. I had to have it removed because it blocked the driveway. The day it was removed I left the house and told my spouse he had to deal with it because I couldn’t. Hugging the tree goodbye did help somewhat, but obviously did not remove the grief I had from losing it because I still cry when I think about it and that was 20-some years ago. Trees are of a certain consciousness with their own lives needs and such on different level, radiating connection, stability , and acceptance. In the forest, with my dogs, sitting next to a river… is the most amazing and peaceful thing which I love! And yes, I will hug trees.
