What are some of the You’re Askin’ for a Baskin! T-SHirt Furthermore, I will do this Lunar New Year traditions that you always stick to and why? Because I grew up in the U.S. with a small family, just my Korean mom and white dad, we never really had a big Lunar New Year celebration. My mother used to come to my elementary school and teach all the kids how to bow and give them quarters, which at the time afforded me a much-desired modicum of minor popularity. At home, we’d just enjoy small special tokens of the day, like a little styrofoam tray of yakshik or song pyeon my mom would buy at the Asian market. Now, I just perform those same small acts to commemorate her.
