There’s no real winning that argument for any rapper, but especially for him as a white person who does traditionally black music. Also, at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter who claims to the best in any field of art. It’s really public opinion that determines that in art. I always wondered what it would be like growing up with Elvis or the Beatles. I grew up with Eminem and didn’t even realize what was going on. I didn’t grow up with Elvis or the Beatles, but I did live through Michael Jackson’s peak and it was truly a thing to behold. No matter where you went, you could not escape his influence. Wether it was the none stop playing of his music on the radio and TV, people wearing his jacket and/or glove, or any number of homemade pins, hats or shirts. It was crazy. I’m from the Detroit area and Eminem is big here, but he doesn’t hold a candle to the kind of mania of the big superstars of the past. We just have too much media now. We were very limited in the 80’s and it was even worse in the time of Elvis and The Beatles. We will likely never see that kind of insanity again. “You can’t hate Eminem. However, I can definitely appreciate how good of an artist he is because when I do hear his songs, they’re just well done. I don’t like rap, but I can certainly see how he’s such a hit. It’s weird to see him smile. I’ve been a Eminem fan since I was 14. I’m 36 now. I’ve basically grown up with him. It’s STILL weird af to see him smile. With his latest achievement, Eminem joins a list of multi-Diamond album artists that includes Garth Brooks (9), The Beatles (6), Led Zeppelin (5) and the Eagles (3) , Shania Twain (3) and Whitney Houston (3).
