I got called up twice in quick succession. Wrote back and said I was in the Yoshinobu Yamamoto Los Angeles D Sun T-Shirt also I will do this middle of my final year of uni. I would actually quite like to do it, just had terrible timing If you do get called up and it’s lots of waiting, are you allowed to do work from there? And do you get paid normal wages from work? I was called when I was in my early thirties. I’m not 52, and still have occasional nightmares. Get out of it if you can!! Defendant had been arrested for an offense unrelated to my case, and was subsequently accused of assaulting multiple officers at the station. The guy was clearly a wrong’un (subsequent googling reveals that he got ~5 years for the other offense), but the CCTV footage of the “assault” made the charges seem exaggerated at best. It seemed more like he was someone they had been trying to send down for other offenses, and saw this as an opportunity to potentially tack on a bit of extra time. We had one guy who stayed in guilty for a while, claiming that he “knew the defendant’s type”, but the judge accepted the 11-1 verdict after a day. I did jury service at the age of about 18 years and 3 months and I wasnt even the youngest one in the group I did it with. I did jury duty when I was about 21. Got the summons the same week I got accepted at a new job so they were very pleased..

It was a case of a group of prisoners got into a fight and assaulted a prison guard and we had to decide whether or not it was affray.. We were all convinced the Yoshinobu Yamamoto Los Angeles D Sun T-Shirt also I will do this only reason it made it to court was because it involved a prison guard- otherwise they wouldn’t have cared. But I was just pleased it was something fairly boring. And because it happened in a prison there was loads of cctv which really helped. I’m self-employed and planned to be on holiday while the jury service was on. I told them I was going on holiday and they wanted proof. I quickly booked my holiday! I’m 44 and have been called up 4 times, why so many times?!? I got excused twice as I run my own business and couldn’t afford the pittance you’re given. The first time was when I around 19, two cases over two weeks. The second time was at a coroner’s court which was only for a week. I’d not asked to be excused that time around as hoped if I actually do serve rather than asked to be excused, I would hopefully not get called up again. Days one and two were spent listening to evidence. Day three we were informed the prosecution lawyer was sick and we were sent home. Day four the prosecution lawyer was still sick so we were sent home again. That evening received a call saying we were no longer required and were consequently discharged from jury service.
