I just don’t understand the Winter is Fine Shirt and by the same token and stretch… because creative types gather within Tumblr? Did they intent to craft it into a digital creative space? Did they intend to provide tools for it to become a digital creative space? It it was literally because of high user count. What they did not bank on is how many of those “creatives” are just horny nerds, they banned porn on the platform and user base plummeted. It’s not even very complicated So it’s even worse… they bought a collection of softcore – hardcore porn blogs and then decided not to have porn that 90% of their audience either consumes or is aware of and takes no issue. “We want to reach your audience, but we don’t want to be associated with your content. Eliminate the core content which is the reason you have an audience, and we will give you advertising dollars.”

Often they tell you to stop asking questions or to stop being negative. My favourite one is ‘we’ll figure that out later”. Worked on a project once where the requirements would be ‘”figured out later”. Obviously it didn’t go well when nobody could really explain what was being built without hand waviness and magic
