In return, the Who Needs Therapy When You Have Beer And Darts Player T-Shirt moreover I will buy this families would participate in a 1 hour workshop covering topics Iike encouraging early literacy, social emotional regulation, accessing resources, etc. Then they could have an additional hour to go relax and run errands before picking up their kids. The problem is that students know they have zero consequences for not doing shit. Their parents can complain if you actually punish them. Also they have the attention span of a gnat. I never thought I’d say this hut technology unironically has made them unable to focus. Giving teachers power over their own classrooms. If a student is so disruptive that it affects others, having the power to remove them. Being able to assign grades (down to 0) in line with their best judgement. Having support staff and admin back up for special circumstances or issues. Having their time respected and protected. Being judged based on measurable results and using many metrics and indicators, and not with a bs evaluation system.

Allow kids to fail and be held back. A 10 grade ELA teacher should be teaching to that grade level, not to 16 year olds that read on a grade 3 level. Get rid of no child left behind (I am strictly speaking about gen ed, not children with disabilites that require intervention.) Less professional development for teachers and more Parenting classes. I can tell very quickly if a child has parents that value their education and have taught them basic manners and how to regulate their behaviors. Parents, WE KNOW if you have allowed tgem to be raised by their phone. PLEASE take away their unlimited access to screen time. You have no idea the Who Needs Therapy When You Have Beer And Darts Player T-Shirt moreover I will buy this damage you are doing. Pay society in general a liveable wage. Parents that work 2 to 3 jobs have limited time to work with their kids on their academics. Respect teachers and their authority, both by admin and parents. Allow us to teach the way we sit fit. Allow us to send a child out of the room if they are preventing my other 20 students from learning. Show us we are valued by paying us more and trusting us as professionals. Rather than admin making classroom observations (who at the very least have had 3 years in teaching, and are not not regularly in the modern day classroom) get a seasoned 10 -20 year experienced teacher working at the same school to observe you and offer you insight and strategies to improve.
