Sitz bath!!! Have it ready for when you are done. Then jump in the Whitney Houston an American singer and actress shirt also I will do this bath tub right after you have cleaned up. It makes a world of difference. Warm not hot. Not a ton of water just a few inches. If you can handle it, trying flexing in and out and the water just makes the throbbing go away. I wish you a speedy recovery! Sitz baths are my hero!!!! I actually have a small bowl type thing that sits on the toilet with what looks like a saline bag that gravity feeds the water. Shower is already running, take care of business drop the.bowl jump (well more shuffle and scream) in the shower rinse jump on the sitz, five minutes, jump back in the shower rinse and repeat I just had my second hemorrhoidectomy. I literally had part of the opening of my butthole removed. I have been on a liquid diet and will continue to be on one till it stops hurting. I also follow the BRAT diet (bananas rice apples toast) which is recommended for children who are experiencing the flu, it’s easy on the stomach and will not cause constipation nor diarrhea. That being said, it’s insanely painful. Lots of sitz baths, ointment, guaze, pain meds, and laying down. The first time around it took me 6 weeks to feel normal. I needed a second surgery though to finish (I have bad genetics coupled with poor education about my eating habits and how it effects my bowels.) This time around seems to be healing faster, but it’s only been a couple days.

I also had stitches after giving birth. That was harder to prepare for because I didn’t have an exact date to prepare my body for pushing a baby out. The first poop after birth is really really terrible. Some women bust stitches and need to get resewn up. I had a 7.5 cm section of my colon removed because of cancer. I had to go on a special diet for 6 weeks where I couldn’t eat more than 25 g of fiber a day, and had to take a healthy dose of stool softeners. Not exactly the Whitney Houston an American singer and actress shirt also I will do this same, but I imagine similar 4th degree laceration during child birth tore from front to back. Took over a year to get any sensation back in the anal region. It was awful for about 3 weeks, Colace helped but it was mostly like squeezing out a porcupine. It took me a long time to not be tense every time I went. You take stool softeners and just let your intestines contract and do all the work for you. NO PUSHING. Just let it fall out of you. And wipe back, not forward. Keep the poop out of the stitches.
